Lily of the Valley...

In the Victorian era...
each flower carried an assigned meaning.
In the "language of flowers"
The Lily of the Valley signifies the return of happiness.

Legend tells of the affection of a lily of the valley
for a nighingale that did not come back to the woods
until the flower bloomed in May.

For Christmas a few years ago,
my Mom gave me this beautiful...
Fenton lily of the valley basket vase.

It's become my tradition that...
Every year when the lily of the valley bloom..
I fill my little Fenton basket.

Here is a close up of the dainty bells...
they smell as sweet as they look!

Today I am joining Cindy at My Romantic Home
for Show and Tell Friday.

Thanks for stopping by,

What a beautiful basket vase! I love it!
Lilies of the valley are so pretty; I don't have any in my garden, surprisingly. We don't have a lot of areas where it's shady though. :-)

Hello dear Bella
I've come to see you via my good friend Sherri from Lavender Fields. I saw your comment and had to come and see who "Bella" was. You see I also have dogs, 7 of them actually. Yes 7. I also adopt. 3 of them are seniors, 3 of them are related and one is just a nice king shepherd. My little 8 year old sweetie pie is named Bella. Bella Luna.
I'm so so sorry to hear about Jake, I think his name was, forgive me. I have been reading up on your blog tonight. You should always write how you feel when you fell Bella. Blogs have to be real. That's how I feel anyway. I'm dreading the thought of loosing one of my fur babies. P.J. is now 13, Lucky and sister Sasha are 12 and they go down from there. All are very healthy and have no medical issues at the moment. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Ok time for bed.
BTW. Love your lilies in that pretty Fenton vase.
Have a great weekend
I'll be back
Love Claudie

Thanks for sharing - I won't see mine for weeks!

Marianne,

This post made my heart sing.

I am the same exact way - I still go into craft supply stores feeling insecure and completely confused.

Glad you share what you do!
