Birds and Blooms...

After so much garden center shopping...
Today was a long planting and weeding day.

It even stopped raining for a bit :-)

So... today I am sharing some photos of
Birds and Blooms
from the garden today.

(click photos to enlarge)

First a bit of whimsy,
because I felt a little giddy with seeing the sun!

The rabbit wore a flower in his hare ;-)

A happy clump of Armeria
Sea Thrift Pink...

The Lupine are loving all the rain...

The colorful fat stalks of Lupine
always give the garden a magical feel.

My first Peony of the year.

When we moved to our house there was zero landscaping.
Then in the middle of the gravel driveway
Peonies started popping up.

I dug them up and filled fifty gallon size pots with them,
having no idea what color they would be.

I planted six large groupings along the picket fence,
and shared a few with a neighbor.

When they bloomed, I couldn't have been happier
with the color and double blooms!
I don't know their name,
but they are so pretty!

A few weeks ago I told you about the
Evening Grosbeaks arrival
Click here to see that post.

This year they are staying,
They must be enjoying the cool weather.
They are messy, but delightful to have around.

Also... the Black Headed Grosbeaks have arrived...

and the American Goldfinches,
these are our State Bird.

Thanks for joining me in the garden today!

Today I am joining
Susan at A Southern Daydreamer

Thanks for visiting me today,

Hi Bella,
Your bunny statue looks so fashionable with flowers on his head! Too cute!
Your lupines are amazing! They are HUGE! I love the double dark pink peonies too; beautiful color. My mother used to have some like these when I was a girl, alongside the driveway, but I don't know what happened to them.

The lupine is wonderful - I just adore that plant. I like the flower in the rabbit's 'hare' - mine wears a string of faux pearls. A little whimsy adds charm to the garden ♥

Your garden is beautiful, so many beautiful hidden treasures everywhere you look. I also had the same situation when moving in here, it takes allot of hard work to get a garden looking like yours. Thanks for sharing.

All your flowers look wonderful! I love lupins and the birds look so cute! Alas, it's getting to be winter here in New Zealand, so my garden is hibernating.

You have some very pretty and unusual flowers. I am not familiar with the Lupine, but sure like it. It would probably not grow here. Send us dome of your rain. We are burning up with l00 degrees already. We are going to roast this summer.

Gorgeous garden. I love the lupine...have you read "Mrs Rumphius"? A sweet story about a lady who sows wild lupine seeds - I bet you would love it.

Gorgeous flowers! Thanks for dropping by Atticmag. Also wanted to point out that JaneT was the one who wrote the flea market post. There are three of us and sometimes it's easy to pass over who did what post. Wanted to give credit where credit is due!

See you soon,

Lovely garden today Bella! It's so different here in NM. Your photos are so wonderful. I was practically an old lady the first time I saw a goldfinch with my own eyes! And now they are my favorite bird. I love their song. The grosbeaks are so dramatic when we see them here. I'm sure they love your garden too! I enjoyed my visit! JQ

Hi Bella, I luv the fact that you still have the pansies in your garden. I found one that was a surprise today while weeding. And your pic's of the birds are great. Im am too noisy when trying to sneak up on them to get a shot. Have a good day....Julian

Your garden looks wonderful Bella. I've never had much luck growing lupines but do love the fragrant ones.
We finally got rain today!!! I knew all that silly dancing around would work.
