Pink Roses and a Wedding...

On Wednesday I shared with you photos of white roses
from the rose garden at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma
If you want to see the white roses click here.

Today it's time for Pink Saturday
so I thought I would share the Pinks,
my favorites of course:-)

(click photos to enlarge)

To the right of the rose garden is this very  long arbor
covered with these gorgeous climbers...

I have the silliest picture of myself standing here,
more then twenty years ago!

Roses just dripping from the sky...

The biggest blooms in the sweetest blush color...

A perfect bud unfurling in the sun...

These happy pinks were the bees knees:-)

This is one I noted in my wanna have list...
Madame Violet
I even love the name:-)

Here is a bit of an overview...
 an ocean of roses...

These were fabulous so big and ruffled!

another overview...
see the gazebo on the right?
It is in the center and rows and rows of roses surround it.
(that was a tongue twister!)

So those were the roses...

The wedding was my sweet husbands and mine
 seventeen years ago this weekend...
The fun thing is the photos from our wedding day
were taken at the same park as the roses:-)

Since this wasn't a first marriage for either of us,
we didn't want a big wedding.
So we eloped to a little chapel just bringing his Grandmother
who's anniversary we share.

But I really did want photos..
so we took them in the park near by the chapel.

This scan is the worst quality..
I keep it framed in sepia tones,
(I love the softness of sepia)
The originals are in an album.
I realized I must get busy putting negatives onto discs!

I hope everyone has a Wonderful Weekend!
We are going to take a day trip for our anniversary
and visit the Lavender Festival.
I'll share some photos of that too!

Today I am joining Beverly

Thanks for visiting me today!

Happy Anniversary! Your wedding photo is beautiful (as you are). I love sepia photos.

That pic of the rose unfurling in the sun is breathtaking. That should be made into a greeting card or framed. Just gorgeous.

The roses are breath-taking! And I love the story of how you "eloped" but took your husband's grandmother along. She must have been so delighted to participate! Very sweet. :)

Bella, I too, want a Madame Violet rose! Next year it will be on my shopping list of new additions to my garden. Isn't the fragrance heavenly? If someone could create a perfume of that fragrance I would wear it every day. Thank you for sharing your lovely photos of such a beautiful place. You were a beautiful bride. Blessings - Julie

G'day Bella ~ What a gorgeous photo for your wedding ... & how sweet you shared the day with his Grandmother. You are a beautiful bride & handsome couple. Happy Anniversary.

I was so thrilled to see the Pt. Defiance park, this is such a lovely place to visit all year round ... it has been years since I've been there, we are originally from Chehalis, now happily displaced on the east coast.

Happy PS & a beautiful anniversary ~
Have a lovely summer's eve ~
