A Glut of Gloves...

Do you remember
I told you I bought a box of gloves at garage sale?

What would I do with all those gloves,
a few of you asked :-)

(click photos to enlarge)

I have this little shelf
next to my vanity,
in the corner of my bedroom...

I bought it at Marshall's
it was a beachy weathered grey color,
and I made it over...

BB (before blogging)
when I didn't photograph everything:-)

This is where I keep my little collection of floozie dolls..
they are a sassy bunch of girls!
If you don't remember them you can visit them here...

Since I hung the little shelf
I have wanted a group of vintage gloves
to hang from the pegs...

Grouping them with my delicate vintage bodice...

These crochet gloves I have had for awhile
I think they are amazingly romantic...

Of course there are roses :-)

White and dried to a perfect state of nostalgia..

Today I am joining

Thanks for visiting me today!

Bella-What a beautiful display. Love the piece you made over. I have a pair of crocheted gloves just like yours. They belonged to my hubby's grandmother. And I love your little FLOOZIES! what everyone needs-a floozie in the bedroom....every man's dream! Diana

Dearest Bella,

Well, as you know, I do have a soft spot for those gloves as well. My very first project when I'd just come to the USA, was to crochet a pair of intricate gloves from an American magazine. I felt proud for having managed this by pure English instructions and also by having them turn out like on the magazine... So you get my go ahead girl; LOVE them!
By the way, I love your new photo too; very soft and romantic looking.
Those white roses, they look perfect and I gather from your writing that you, yourself did dry them... correct?
I will post my gloves and other crocheted lace, like my wedding handkerchief etc. in a later blog. First I MUST manage to populate my website and also to blog about those items with better (mostly bigger) images than on my site. That is a project that gets me almost bored but since my friend Ellie with her husband arrive on September 2nd I have no choice. Was glad to put in the Jasmines for a change. I love to do that far more and I will in a later stage. Showing my readers the home, each special niche etc. Years to write... lots of subjects and all romantic. So this coming blogging is not yet that romantic for me but I hope that my readers bear with me as there is more and better to come!

Greetings from Georgia,

Hi Bella :) I adore how you've displayed your beautiful gloves, and I must say, I am loving that mirrored shelf! I thought it was an antique until I read further to see you got it at Marshall's. Wow!!

And I love your new Profile picture of you :)

Warmest hugs, Brenda

That is a gorgeous shelf, and a perfect spot for those beautiful and romantic gloves and camisole. It makes for an old-fasioned yet oddly sexy arrangement. (Maybe that's the floozie influence, LOL.)

Brilliant display, all looks lovely! I do so like your floozies, though the word made me giggle. It's what my mom told me I looked like in the sixties wearing my mini skirts!!

Hi Bella!
I LOVE this!
What a great shelf----so gorgeous! I need one like that!
I really like your idea of displaying the gloves, tied with ribbons and hung from pegs; you can see them so much better and they make a fun vignette paired with flowers and jewelry!
