The Perfect Season...

Last night I used my large silver tray
for my tea setting...

(click photos to enlarge)

and... I realized how much I miss winter...
Don't get me wrong,
I am not ready for summer to end,
there are just some things
I miss..

Like candlelight...

and the sparkle of silver in the candlelight...

But then again...
In the summer I have roses :-)

Floppy garden fresh roses...

For a brief time
when the sun sets sooner,
and before the cold takes the roses away..

There is the perfect time
when there are...
Floppy garden fresh roses glowing in the candlelight!

Today I am joining

Kathleen for White Wednesday

and

The Style Sisters for Centerpiece Wednesday

Thanks for stopping by!

Dearest Bella,

You must have bought tons of buttons for filling up this tray! Reminds me of my Mom's sewing chest, handmade by my Dad as a practical gift for all her buttons, threads, darning yarn etc. Great idea to display it with the tea lights!
Indeed, come winter - it's candle time again! But you are so right, now we have still the roses and when they're gone it will be different to substitute their beauty.

Hi Bella,

Oh, at first glance I thought you used shells on your tray, then I see pretty buttons? How clever! I love it, with the soft candlelight. You have inspired me. I am so looking forward to fall, and the cool crisp mornings, and evenings, with candlelight of course. :)

Shhhh...Old Man Winter will hear you and come calling all too soon! I have to admit that I love Fall though and the smell of wood fires burning in fireplaces and fire pits. We have not done enough of enjoying the outdoors this summer so I am enjoying your roses-because I have none of my own at this house. You do a beautiful job of putting things together and I love coming here to visit you! Diana

I agree-I burn so many more candles in the winter-and I feel the same way about summer-it's just spring and fall aren't long enough!

Hi Bella
I thought at first you had used shells and then realized part of your button collection was stewn with rose petals. The candlelight and roses in a compote along with the buttons have made a truly remarkable centrepiece.
About winter....hmmm, I can wait!

Hi Bella! Those candles really make that tray just glow. Sooo pretty! I'm already mourning the passing of summer, and dreading the coming winter months. I'd love to live somewhere where you get three seasons....excluding winter!

What a sweet idea, to put those tea lights nestled in the buttons...looks so darling.
WInter here in TExas is not so bad. But I do NOT miss the winters up North.

Lovely centerpiece Bella! I like winter too. I realize that many do not, but I love to come home on a snowy evening to a warm cozy house filled with the fragrance of a yummy stew or pot of soup cooking on the stove and the sight of candles glowing and a fire on the hearth.

Love,
