For me fall is a time of gathering,
a time to feather my nest...
(click photos to enlarge)
A beautiful Autumnal day
is a call to gather...
So I went on a small local country drive...
(there is beautiful Mount Rainer in the Background)
Looking for Rose Hips...
I filled my basket...
I trimmed and displayed them in small votive cups,
along the top of my sideboard..
With warm candlelight...
and sparkly crystals....
The soft and cheery glow
is sure to drive away
any dread of the pending cold nights:-)

Oh my!! all these pics are lovely... makes me want to call all my family over for dinner.. ;-)
Dearest Bella,
Wish I would have access to those lovely fruits of my favorite flower; the rosehips! You did find such beautiful full ones, they display marvelous with your crystal inside your votive holders. One cannot complain when the nest is THIS cozy!
Greetings from Georgia where heavy rains finally cooled us off... relief!

Great picture of the mountain, a very different angle from the one I have. Love those rose hips in votives, what a wonderful way to use them!
OH MY! THIS POST IS WONDERFUL, I think there is nothing warmer than the light of a candle.
We have so much in common my dear Bella, I love gathering rose hips, berries and pine cones.
With love,
Fra
Very warm and inviting!
A time honoured tradition; women gathering, and you've displayed your autumn bounty so prettily.
One of our older garden club members once told me she and her sister were sent out in fall to collect rose hips for their mother to make rose hip jelly, a winter source of vitamin C.

So pretty, Bella
Beautiful way to use the rose hips.
What a beautiful post! I love the picture of Mt. Ranier with the rosehips in it! Just great!! I used to collect rosehips and put them all over the farmhouse we used to have in NJ. They are great-I love all the colors!
Mt Ranier is just a spectacular backdrop. I was lucky enough to see it personally several years ago when I went to visit my friend in Snohomish.
The rosehips are wonderful and I love the way you have displayed them with the candles. They really add a warm beauty to your home. I do that too...collect and gather this time of year. I am always on the lookout for bittersweet which is getting harder and harder to find here. Roadside sprays have all but eradicated it in the spots I used to find it.
Thanks for the lovely post, Bella...it has been a nice start to my morning- xxoo Diana
Beautiful display ... and so warming!!!! HHL
Bella, your rosehips are displayed so prettily on your sideboard with the candles. Everything looks so romantic and ethereal in your photos. Lovely....

XOX~MARI
those are the largest, prettiest rose hips I've ever seen :)
Everything looks so lovely and warm. I love the inviting glow of the candles.
It is a lovely post, Bella.
Fall is one of the prettiest season. Yes it is the time to gather what "Dame Nature" gives us : mushrooms, chestnuts, crab apples, foliage... Here in France, we make jam with rose hips. It is a specialty of the East of France and it is delicious.
Have a nice day.
