We have been having our first fall storm
four days of wind and rain...
Laziness has filled my days
I was looking at old photos
and thought I would share a few,
timely ones....
(click photos to enlarge)
We moved into our house
just a few weeks before Halloween,
eleven years ago...
It was an old Victorian House that I adored
I had watching it,
hoping to buy it someday...
A major fixer upper
with chippy paint
and a few rotting boards...
Not a plant in sight,
no real updates to the house in 50 years!
Although daunting, a perfect blank canvas,
To build a dream on,
full of original features...
The stark original black and white color scheme
made a great Halloween backdrop
in it's simplicity...
Yes...
I loved crows even then :-)
These days
with it's pink exterior
and lavender porch floors,
Eerie just doesn't work so well :-))
Today I am joining
Susan for Outdoor Wednesday
and
Kathleen for White Wednesday
Thanks for visiting me today!

I just love old houses before we alter them-I know what you mean-they just have a quiet, mysterious character of their own-if only the walls COULD talk! Happy WW
It is eerie but lovely at the same time. ♥olive

LOVE your home!! It is beautiful and perfectly spooky in the photos!! Hugs,Rachel
what a beautiful house!!
Your home is as lovely outside as inside, Bella. It suits you perfectly. Are there pictures somewhere of the pink exterior? One of my friends had a very small rancher that she painted pink and had lavender flower boxes and white trim filigree. It was like walking up to an enchanted house. I think there was some pale green accent on it too. I never saw the outside of your house before-but I would have picked that one for you!>) xxoo Diana
Oh the spooky look was perfect! I would like to see that same shot now!
Your home is lovely {snd a little spooky dressed up for Halloween!} I love how you caught the leaves blowing around!

OMGoodness! You have such a lovely blog and even lovelier home! I can certainly see why your home was featured in a magazine! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments!

oh, i love the spookie look, how fun you have great pictures of the "before"
That's a beautiful house, I love the Victorian edging along the roofline, and that porch is romance itself. I don't recall seeing your house face-on, I'm usually admiring those lush gardens of yours surrounding it.
I love victorian as well wether scarey or lovely
Dear Bella
Visiting you is always a pleasure
Kisses and Hugs
No wonder you fell in love ...it's a marvelous house and it looked great all dressed for the season!
Jan
The photos are just beautiful. That is one lovely house. I'm so glad I got to see them.
I can see why you fell in love with this house Bella - such Victorian character.
The porch is something I crave for - newer homes like ours are lacking in many ways.
Your pastel paint has given it new life and a whole new look.
Judith
What a beautiful home! I live in a 100+ year old home and I love it as well. Well, okay, it is sometimes love/hate (would it be too much to ask to have some closets???), but I can't imagine living anywhere else.
Judy
This is wonderful Bella! Very fun decor and beautiful old house. Reminds me of the one I grew up next to.
Sherry
I love old houses. I'm so drawn to them and I could never live in a new one. Yours is beautiful.
