Bird Under Glass...

Yesterday when I showed you
my shabby roses candle holder makeover,
I was holding out on you...

(click photos to enlarge)

On my trip to Tuesday Mornings,
I also bought a giant cloche...

I couldn't resist!

So today I dressed it up
and will be enjoying it as a centerpiece
for a bit..

The cloche
was only the glass bell top,
so I paired it with this silver tray I had
and used a crocheted doily to soften it a little...

Tucked in a fat cast iron sparrow,
in a nest of dried roses...

I fell in love with the detailing,
like the heavy curvy knob topper...

and the sides have a beautiful crossed leaf pattern
etched into the glass..

Mr. Sparrow seems pleased with his new home...

Today I am joining...

Hello Beautiful, Beautiful photos. How nice detail in your bird on dried flowers. Everything you put on a bed of roses and look THROUGH the glass, inspires us. Bella thanks for your beautiful details captured by your lens magic. Greetings, Rose Marie

Hi dear Bella

Oh I adore your little table vignette. I'm a push-over for anything with roses and birdies.
I haven't got a cloche as they're quite hard to find where I am (New Zealand)!
But I'm always on the lookout - fingers crossed I get lucky one day!

I've just done my first link post so I would love for you to come and visit me and I'll get out my prettiest teacups and make you very welcome!!
take care
hugs

Hi Bella! OH, what a gorgeous cloche and you've dressed her up so lovely. Now I have some cousins, I think, of your cloche. I found a couple last year at TM that were etched and I just love them!! :)
Be a sweetie,

Hi Bella,

Your cloche looks beautiful. I like the fact that it is engraved. It gives it an old fashioned touch. You decorated it beautifully with the little bird and the rose petals!

Wish you a happy weekend!

I like how you used the crocheted doily in the cloche to soften the base. Your little birdie in his nest of rose buds must be a long lost relative to my little guy! I got mine at the garden center for a buck and he often finds a home inside a cloche, too. :-)
