Chandelier Love...

I love chandeliers
and have been trying forever
to find some for my house...

Who doesn't want bedazzling lights
to gaze upon?

(click photos to enlarge)

I was lucky enough to find four over the summer,
two had their crystals,
the other two didn't.

This week I painted and hung
the first two...

They started this brassy / gold color...
I hand painted them,
just using mixed white acrylic paints...

as you can see
the candle sleeves started without the drips,
I showed you how I added the drips
to a project I made last spring...

I hung the first larger chandelier in my parlor,
where I have sharing my remodeling with you lately...

I call it a birdcage style
I am not sure it's a correct term,
but,  it reminds me of a birdcage...

I am crazy for the the ruffled edges
of the French style prisms...

The second chandelier
went into my family room,
that I am busy painting tonight...

which is why the ceiling is darker than the walls :-)

Since love is in the air
I mixed little glass hearts in with the teardrop prisms.

I hadn't thought about it until now,
teardrops and hearts
make a sad combo...

The little glass hearts came from Jo-Anne's Fabrics,
I bought them last week and they were already on sale,
twelve for four dollars...

my little cupid is filled with Amore..

holding his heart in his hand...

Tonight I am joining...

They both are very pretty, but I really like the second one. The glass hearts look so dainty next to the teardrops.

Hi Bella, your chandeliers are just beautiful!... to me, the little tear drops and hearts speak of happiness... perhaps a young lady with tears in her eyes as her beau proposes in your parlor... (I just love a parlor, I even just love saying the word!)... xoxo Julie Marie

Hi Bella
Your chandeliers are just gorgeous and I love the little hearts you hung on one.
You are making me feel guilty - we had a really nice brass chandelier in our dining room when we bought our first house and I hated cleaning all those prisims so.....got rid of if! How I wish I still had it.
Well, I'll just enjoy yours. :-)

That is a beautiful chandalier, I love those too. I also have this obsession with solar lights. They are pretty too and it just seems amazing the sun provides the energy to charge those batteries. Thanks for letting me visit.

Dear Bella,
How beautiful your chandalier's are. It's so nice to have a desire to have something like this, and then have it come a reality. All it takes is a vision, places to hunt, a happy find and some man power to finish it all.
Looks like you completed your goal.

Oh I LOVE your chandys...especially painted. They are beautiful. And I can't wait to see your room all painted. Those little hearts are just so sweet..you are right, though..there is something sad about teardrops and hearts...at least for me.

Thanks for posting the link to making the glue drop "drips". I see that you start at the bottom..NOT the top...and I would have thought the exact opposite. I also love the glue coated "candle bulbs" and have them in all my windows at Christmas. I wonder if anyone has a source to buy them at a reasonable price...I need some replacements. Hugs-Diana
