Bellevue Botanical Garden in Spring...

Bellevue Botanical Gardens
is one of my favorite places to visit in the summer..

But.. I had never been in the spring.

Since we are enjoying a bit of spring in the air
I drove up yesterday...

Expecting to see colorful bulb displays...
but was excited to instead see
a giant variety of Hellebore in bloom...

(click photos to enlarge)

They are redesigning their flower beds
so the plants are just divided and
most were not labeled..

So most of the names are not available to share...

the spidery stamen...

Green flowers are something I am just loving
 the last couple years
and really want to add to my garden...

These were marked
"Pink Frost" ...

I loved the more upright cupped flower...

Witch Hazel in full bloom...

A close up
of the Witch Hazel's tiny flowers...

a wee cyclamen...

I am guessing this is a variegated Weigela,
the colors so soft....

They have a big Camellia Bush in the front,
just coming into full bloom...
quite a sight to see...

Welcome Spring!!!

I will be joining the fun at...
and

Thanks for stopping by...

Is it not the best to have close to home a lovely place to visit like this? Makes the wait for our gardens to catch up bearable? I'm 15 minutes away from our wonderful, every growing, beautiful, breath taking,Tower Hill Botanical Garden. As soon as the snow is gone, I'm there..all the time..all year. These photo's are beautiful.

Wouldn't you love to move your house right in the middle of all those gardens? What a delight that you were able to spend the day there. Hugs-Diana

Great spring time photos Bella. I also like chartreuse flowers, the colour is very calming. Once you start to look for different varieties, you'll find there are lots available.

We had hellebores - they're great for shaded cool spots. Thanks for sharing the picture of witch hazel, I don't think I'v ever seen it before, even in a picture.

Cheers,

I was wondering how the BB garden was looking now. My garden is very behind, I wonder if it is too? We went late March last year and it was just gorgeous. Your pictures are very pretty!

Bella, what gorgeous flowers! How glorious to see compared to the 100% humidity, and the cloudy, windy days we're experiencing in my neck of the woods. Thank you for this quiet repose.

Have a happy day,
Marianne
