Happy May Day...

As a girl I delighted in leaving May Day baskets
on the doorknobs of favorite neighbors...

(click photos to enlarge)

this year I made a basket for you...

I dangled it from the knob of my shed door..
(the little building you see in my header)

I have a thing for pink doors :-)

My May Day Basket
from last year
hanging on my pink front door is here...

May Baskets
by Evaleen Stein

Let us take our baskets early
To the meadows green,
While the wild-flowers still are pearly
With the dewdrops' sheen.

Fill them full of blossoms rosy,
Violets and gay
Cowslips, every pretty posy
Welcoming the May.

Then our lovely loads we'll carry
Down the village street,
On each door, with laughter merry,
Hang a basket sweet.

Hey-a-day-day! It is spring now,
Lazy folks, awake!
See the pretty things we bring now
For the May Day's sake!

I hope your May Day
is filled with sunshine and flowers...

I am joining
and

Thanks for stopping by...

Hi Bella,
your May basket is beautiful. I remember well the one you made last year. It feels like I read that post just a few weeks ago, but it's been a year already. Time flies when you are having fun.
Happy May day!

This is a great post, Bella. I love your May basket, and your pink door! Very thoughtful and SO creative.

I think this is the first time I've visited your blog and I will most definitely be back. The Victorian tea party and gazebo tour are gorgeous!
