One of My Favorite Things...

I buy a lot of different vases...
they are hard to pass by at garage sales,
they cost almost nothing,
and each holds the seed of a dream,
 of a new design...

and, sometimes a vase isn't a vase at all
but a chippy creamer or a simple old jar...

(click photos to enlarge)

but,
there is one vase that is dear to my heart,
one that I use each year...

It was given to me by my Mom...

a Fenton basket style vase,
in a Lily of the Valley pattern...

so... I look forward each year
to filling my little glass basket...

with the perfect bell shaped blooms...

and well...
a nosegay is always nice too :-)

In last years post about my bouquet,
I shared some facts and meanings
about these sweet spring blooms...
you can see that post here...

Tonight I am joining...
and
(because playing with the pics is half the fun:-)

Nice of you to stop by :-)

Your images are JUST PERFECT...so soft and sweet and I can smell their fragarance from here.
A vase is anything that holds our lovely flowers... as far as I am concerned, and seems like it is that way for you too.

Going off to see the other blogs as well.

Many hugs,

Rose

Your Mom has gifted you with some nice things over the years, she has good taste and knows what you would like.
Lily-of-the-valley are certainly one of the flowers associated with fairies and maybe it is them that spreads them all through the garden.

Beautiful, beautiful lilies of the valley, and the vase is just perfect...your photos are sublime. They bring back many memories of my childhood in New Jersey when the lily of the valley bloomed wild in our yards. I actually lived in a valley, too. I took them for granted then, but wish I could see them now.

Have a glorious day,
Marianne

Hello there dear Bella,

What a delightfully fresh, fragrant looking, Lily of the Valley post. ~ Oh my!.., So refreshing and sweet to behold!
As always, your vignettes are so fabulous!

You've outdone yourself once again!

~ (I was out of the office, after last weeks tea's for several days, so I'm much later getting by to visit than I would have preferred);

..,Yet I must say what pure delight it was to have you partake once again with TTTT and also with my 83rd, 'Tuesday Tea For Two'!..,

The Violet nosegays,(despite the rain); that were so prettily arranged amidst your dainty teacups were darling and oh-so-pretty!

Thanks so very much for joining us and we look forward to hopefully having you join us once again in a few days; it's always a pleasure!

Oh Lily of the Valley ....... those are such gracious little flowers with such an amazing fragrance. The vase is so delicate and obviously goes perfectly with the fleur in which it holds. Did you know that they were Jackie Kennedy's flower when she got married? I'm a big fan of both the flower & Jackie. Both are beautiful.

Great zoomed photos of the flowers and I'm loving the colors in the basket. My grandmother used to collect glass baskets, so I've always been surprised at all the colors and styles the they are made in. Happy Sunday.
