A Garden Gate Welcome...

I love visiting garage sales,
as you must know by now...

and,  I am quite a squirrel all summer long,
gathering projects to keep me busy,
throughout the long winter,
 while the garden sleeps...

(click photos to enlarge)

I don't know what it is about wall pockets,
but I am always finding them...
and anything that can serve as a garden planter
excites me...

so I have amassed quite a few....

the Eden Rose
has decided to take a bloom break,
and my gate was begging for a point of interest...

a welcome basket
filled the niche...

filled with a lazy tangle of summer blooms....
(after being lined with a baggie to hold water)

A Potato Vine
twines gracefully along it's rusty wire loop.....

a long time rabbit friend
serves as a greeter...

"That beautiful season the Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."

  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Hi Bella, I think you gate looks very welcoming. I quite often see people spend a fortune on pots and what have you which may look nice but really there is nothing lacking in what you have made and for a fraction of the price no doubt.

Hi Bella
You've dressed the pocket planter up to look so pretty. My daughter gave me one similar to yours that she made into a clock and filled with faux lavender. The bunny peeking out of the blooms is adorable.

Judith
