Ruffles and Roses...

I have joined the crowd,
and made a ruffled bed skirt,
into a ruffled tablecloth...

like so many bloggers before me,
I couldn't resist!

I thought the hard part was going to be getting
reacquainted with my dusty sewing machine,
but really it was finding
the ruffled bed skirt to begin with

I found mine at overstock.com
I just peeked and all sizes are avaliable
here is a link if your looking...

the ruffles remind me of petticoats,
so I made my table cloth small,
to fit my table without the leaf...
intimate...

and I made it square to fit my round table,
I like the way it falls into points at the corners
 this way...

piles of ruffles
laying on your lap...
swoon....

do you remember
my roses of a few weeks ago?

I made them into a little topiary...

they dried nearly perfectly
in place..

I added a half a florist foam ball underneath
to perk them up
and added a few roses to the skimpy spots...

even though the weather is nasty outside...

my shabby new tablecloth
has me dreaming...

of spring...

of floral china
and pretty tablescapes...

are you dreaming of spring too?

Today I am joining...
and

Thanks for stopping by today,
I always enjoy our visits...

Bella I am so pleased you joined us rufflers. The table cloths are just divine,I love mine to bits and can't take it off the table. I got my skirt from the same place. I hope Overstock read blogs to see how many are now tablecloths. They may just make them tablecloths instead,LOL
Yours looks so lovely hanging at the corners. Who can ever resist ruffles.
I think we have started an epidemic.:)
Your roses look gorgeous dried,at least you can enjoy them a little longer.

Hi Bella, It's been quite some time since I have visited with you! I did a post a while back showing my ruffled bedskirt turned tablecloth ~ I removed the silkey top part, and stitced the ruffles onto a white linen tablecloth, and made it fit my oval table ~ aren't these ruffles TDF!! I'm on the hunt for an ottoman, and want to use another bedskirt to make a slipcover with it for the ottoman. Your roses are beautiful!

Warmest hugs, Brenda

Such pretty pictures today, Bella! I don't know why I'm saying "today". That's always true! But I love seeing your whole room with the lavender walls, and the windows etc. I have been wanting a ruffled tablecloth, but I didn't know it could be semi-easy!! Have you seen what Ms. Ashwell's cost? Whew! Your china pieces are shown off so well. So pretty pretty! And your sweet topiary is divine! I wouldn't have thot of the moss. You have certainly conjured up some springtime! xx

What a gorgeous share this evening. I absolutely adore this tablecloth. I have seen several but I hadn't found the courage to try until I saw yours. It is so pretty. I can't wait to try as well.

I am off to check out your link at Overstock.com. Can't wait to get mine ordered as well.

Thanks again for sharing. I love your table setting, it is SO Spring and gorgeously romantic. Have a glorious week sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

I love your tablecloth! I think we should start a club or something:) I think at least overstock should send us each a free tablecloth--they must be selling them a lot. Mine has gotten pinned a lot--I can only imagine how many non bloggers out there have made one too. I agree it looks like a petticoat--it is very romantic. Everyone who visits always comments on it. Thanks for sharing yours--I like to see how different people do theirs.

I'm swooning over this ruffled tablecloth! You're making me want to make one too for our breakfast round table...so lovely! I love your vignette too, like the topiary and your dried roses with the pretty dishes, so romantic. I love a couple of square tablecloths I have for my round table, the corners do fall pretty. Thanks for sharing at Primp.

Gorgeous!!! I bought two of those bedskirts after seeing them in Courtney's photos (French Country Cottage) and I used them as tablecloths for my market tables, everyone wanted to know where I got them from!! I think I need to cut one down for my farm table at home:-)great inspiration, thanks!

I haven't ever cut my roses down to fit a particular vase as nicely as you have. Now I hope I get some roses soon so I can do the same. I love it.
Have a wonderful day....at this rate you will have your own roses out there soon..*s*.

Hello Bella:
You should drag out your sewing machine more often! The tablecloth is gorgeous!

I am loving your sweet creamer with the eggs...I may have to "borrow" that idea!

We are having uncharacteristically warm weather here in NJ today. It is going to be near 60 degrees! I will send some warm hugs your way!

Epidemic indeed! LOL. I didn't know what I was missing in my home and closet but its ruffles, I see it now. And I will make one myself soon too, only I think I love it too much to put on a table, I'm going to wear it. :D seriously.I used to wear the feminine, ruffles, layers, pale colors, lace and I've missed them terribly. Your pictures are gorgeous.

I love these tablecloths each time I see them. Too bad the rest of my family doesn't really like shabby chic, so that style is contained to such a small space in the house.

The really wonderful part of your post is the tablescape. Everything is so pretty! Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures with us.

Every time I see a ruffled tablecloth, I want one! So....of course I had to order one of those bedskirts and am waiting for it to arrive. Will you do a tutorial on how you put it together, Bella? Did you use a tablecloth for the center part?

It's just absolutely beautiful!!! :)
