The Last Tea of Spring...

Summer is almost here...

it's time to sing a swan song to the spring...

I went to my favorite garden spot,
for a little tea time...

dry under the gazebo,
listening to the soft hush of rain falling...

gently...

Gertrude Jekyll joined me...

and on occasion a wet dog,
begging me to come back inside...

have I told you this about my prissy
pack of dogs?

they very much dislike
being wet...

they are catlike...

a soft colored cup,
like the softness of the day...

a bundle of flowers...

Fever-Few,  Lupine,  and Toadflax...

I baked mini banana nut muffins,
because it's still cool enough to enjoy baking...

tucked in sprigs of Lavender,
because,
 they are wonderful!

with the summer there is so much to come,
but I will miss the spring...

Today I am joining...
and

Thanks for sipping with me today...

Beautiful Bella, It's always a joy to have Gertrude join us for tea! Your teacup is gorgeous! I haven't seen that one.
I prefer a dog that doesn't like being wet. I am a "sheltie lady" and they dislike water. I'm very happy about that due to the fact I have a little lake and river-let in my yard.
Have a wonderful week,
Big Hugs,
Donna

Hi Bella~
I know exactly how you feel about the farewell to spring... Your lupine and feverview is so beautiful! LoVE how they look together. I've tried to grow lupines from seed and haven't had any success. But yours are lovely! I'm excited to see how well my 5 year old rose of sharon's do this summer and my 4 annabelle's my daughter gave me look amazing right now.
Enjoy!

Hi Bella,
I don't like to see Spring go either as it is my favourite season. However, I do enjoy Summer too because that is when I get to go to the beach! I'm a beach girl in the summertime.
Your photos are so soft and pretty and your use of lavender and the delicate teacup makes your post simply dreamy. Thank you for coming to my party and I wish you a delightful Summer.

Blessings,
Sandi

Pretty, pretty, pretty! As always! Love that pale rose cup. You have so many utterly delicate varieties of blooms to decorate your shots. I just can't imagine stepping outside my door everyday to this. And the soft rain? Bonus. xx

So Dreamy, Bella. Your gardens and roses are just lovely and your tea and muffins are the perfect treat in the soft rain. Spring went by so fast, but Summer is something wonderful to look forward to. I'm looking forward to seeing your gardens in Summer. xx

Adorable pictures! Love that Gertrude Jekyll rose. O, a place like that where you can sit outside but still sheltered from the rain, even enjoying the raindrops falling... Must be heaven. Though we've had enough rain now, I hope summer will bring lots and lots of sun ;-)
Bye,
Marian

Beautiful teascape! The rose is gorgeous. Tea in the gazebo in the garden .. what a treat ... even in the rain! It is already to hot here to do much of anything outside so I'm jealous! Happy Tea Day!

What a sweet post. I love the beautiful flowers and your sweet mini loaves too. Don't you just adore lovely china...I know I do too.
There is the perfect setting to visit and enjoy some tea...
Like you....I'm sorry to be losing spring. I do enjoy the weather and all the newness of the plants and flowers and it isn't usually so hot and steamy....coooool breezes...
but...we must move on..

Hi Bella! You have set up a beautiful scene! I love having tea and and I stopped by the thrift store today and bought the sweetest tea set, a teapot, the c/s set and two teacups and saucers. The cups have a geisha girls face inside and the whole set was $12.50! I need to post about it. We are having outrageous temps, in the 100s! Ugh! Don't feel like doing a thing! Sipping ice tea and catching up on m blogs and my magazines!
Have a beautiful weekend and your post is gorgeous today!

In Arizona, spring looks alot like Summer, so thanks for letting me get a taste of what Spring looks like. Love the flowers, the pictures and the story in between.

There's nothing like a spring garden, and yours is so beautiful, Bella, even in the rain. I love having tea in the garden, or on the verandah when it's raining. It's lovely to have a place like that to sit and still feel as though you're "in" the garden, despite the weather.
