Last Wednesday,
the weatherman called for a stunner of a day...
so my Mr. played hooky..
we headed to
Randle, WA for a little day hike...
I say day hike loosely...
I wore flip flops...
did you hear that?
that loud chuckle?
that would be my Mr.
who knows my choice of footwear
is usually lacking :-)
todays watchable wildlife...
mosquitoes...
vine ripened
Salmonberries...
Maidenhair Ferns...
Sword Ferns...
a meadow clearing...
full of Shasta Daisies...
and fluttering...
Swallowtail Butterflies...
wild Roses...
a roadside mystery
?
A hillside covered in these
gorgeous blue flowers...
I have no idea what they are...
do you?
Happy July!
Are you ready for takeoff?
Thanks for joining me today....

Beautiful photos! Sounds like a day hike I would love. I haven't done anything like this in a long time.
Love the pictures with the butterflies.

Hello Bella
A nice place for a hike to photograph the wildlife and fauna.
I checked my Ontario wildflower book and we have nothing like those pretty blue flowers. I hope someone can ID them for you.

Beautiful! Love the butterflies. I always wear flip flops too:)
I remember camping once in the Olympic National Forest...it was like a wonderland. The huge green slugs were a wonder in themselves. Everything, like you show us here was so lush and beautiful.
I always enjoy day hikes and take photos as well. You can see!

I definitely would not wear flip flops for a hike! I agree with your hubby!!
Eeeee! Do I have some catching up to do! I already miss the ferny cool green. Your meadow pictures are outstanding! Beautiful butterfly photos. You must still be having beautiful days. It was gorgeous the whole time we were in your neck of the woods. Happy 4th! xx

Hi Bella,
I have a question for you-what is the name of the font you use-I used to have it but when my son upgraded my computer it changed and I can't find it again.
Thanks!
Carolyn
Oh, Bella! What lovely countryside! I would probably dance and twirl in the fields - smiling and thanking God - it was such a delight to take a peek into your day's hike. You're not the only one - I prefer going barefoot! My family is always shaking their heads at me for my footwear choices too!
I hope you have a blessed week,
Kathy
What a great idea to take a day off together and enjoy the countryside. It looks like you had a beautiful walk!
Lieve groet,
Madelief x
Each photo delightful! Very love as always!
All of your photos are so beautiful! Thanks for sharing :)
It sounds like you had a lovely day, Bella. (Regardless of your flip flops!) Those purple flowers look a little like Chicory but I could be wrong...
