Fall Harvest and Po....

I have all these odds and ends
on my camera....

kinda harvesty,
kinda gardeny,
some cute animals...

so I thought I would group them up
and share today....

Pee Gee Hydrangea blooms,
gathered for wreath making....

cream and blush tones,
these are the soft colors of autumn
I love...

I harvested my little pumpkin patch...

and gathered the sunflower heads,
I will dry them and save them for winter treats
 for the Chickadees...

It was a small harvest this year,

We had a record dry year
and I really should have watered more...

there is something you never thought you'd hear someone in Seattle say
"I should have watered more"
haha!

well this pic does not count as one of the cute animal pics
I said I would share!

but,   it is a family tradition...

when the first freezes of the year come...

we gut the veggie garden
and let the dogs,
have run of the beds,
to forage what they can find....

Yes, it is strange,
but Italian Greyhounds
Love their veggies....
carrots,  lettuce, bell peppers...

Cosmo,  being an experienced forager,
knows just where the good stuff is....

the last baby heads of Romaine...

for several years,
I have been feeding Opossums in the garden,
mostly apple bites tucked in the bird feeders,
a little dog food during the coldest winter months...

this sweet baby opossum showed up last week,
he is sooo little...

the tips of his ears and tail are so white,
and look at those big ol feet!

I named him Po
and hope he'll hang around...

Today I am joining....
and

Thanks for stopping by....

Beautiful photos! The opossum is just adorable. Do they ever become a nuisance? Have a great week. Blessings, Pamela

Hi Bella
End of season veggie foraging looks like a good time at your place. The photos of baby Po make them look like a cute critter, not the scary looking things I've glimpsed here.
Love the shot of the sunflowers and pumpkins in the wheel barrow with the sunlight dancing across them.

OH my goodness! Wild safari! Amazing to see your pups all together. And I didn't know possums could be cute! I am quite impressed with your harvest too. Such a beautiful variety. But I love that pile of hydrangeas! Gorgeous!

Love this post. Your pumpkins look great--you have a great selection. The dogs in the garden crack me up. I am so paranoid--one of our dogs ate onion was and was close to death. Did you know dogs can't have onion? Garlic too. After the vet gave me the list I am paranoid to let them near the gardens...but yours seem to be doing just fine with it:) That opossum is so cute what great photos you got. Adorable! I used to have an employee that had pet opossums. She was the rescue lady for this area. She would nurse back to health ones that got hit by cars and stuff. She had them wear clothes and stuff. It was funny:)

Hi, stopping in from Outdoor Wednesday. Wow, what a great assortment of pumpkins you were able to harvest. Love the photo of your dogs foraging in the veg garden. Beautiful photo of the Opossum - very cute!

You have a great variety of beautiful pumpkins, but I adore your dogs in the vegetable garden, did not know that It.greyhounds eat raw veggies. Like to see much more photos of this lot. The opossum looks cute, do you know these are a very, very nuisance in New Zealand, we were there on holidays and saw many of them flat and dead on the roads. I bought an opossum skin to drape on a chair, but.......I love more to see them alive.

I love stopping by...you are such a nature girl! And your photos are wonderful. You have such a nice variety of pumpkins, all of them so pretty, the sunflowers, too. And your dogs! How many do you have? They are precious!

Even though we are in the city, we always have opossums, sometimes they live under our shed in the winter. I have never fed them, I'm afraid they will eat my little dog! lol!

Have a great day, Bella!

Jane

I had to laugh at your furbabies scrounging around in the garden, Bella. lol! Our Maizie Grace LOVES her veggies and does the same thing when we let her in the garden. In fact, we always add a handful of green beans, carrots, broccoli, peas, or squash to her dinner twice a day. She loves it, and I truly believe it's keeping her healthy. :)

Very sweet photos of your little harvest! So nice of you to let the dogs have some fun - my dogs like veggies, too. They are so cute with such adorable expressions. Your possum baby is darling. Good for you for being so kind! xx

You have such nice variety in your pumpkin/squash harvest. Mine didn't do well...the squash bugs got into the vines; no nutrition from the vine, no pumpkin! I loved seeing yours. The colors are pretty. Loved seeing your dogs too. Vegis are good for them! The possum is cute too. We had a little one, orphaned or abandoned, and he came up to my husband and sniffed his foot. We thought him cute, until he started hiding under a covered table on the patio; a little too close (and he was an adult by then). We used a live trap and took him to a park out in the country where he could have plenty to eat and the presence of other possums.

Hi Bella,
I enjoyed catching up with you tonight. You have so many beautiful photos but I have to say I adore the pics of po! I have never seen a possum before and I had no idea they were so cute.
You had a great harvest for a dry summer and as usual all your pics were so love;y.

What a wonderful collection of photos, Bella! The pumpkins are so pretty ... such a variety of colors. And your doggie-dears are so adorable 'foraging.' What a wonderful ritual. They must really look forward to it! As for that Po!! What a cutie!

Love this post - the pictures are lovely. Just love your Italian Greyhounds - they're just too sweet - seeing them in the garden and learning they love vegies is adorable. Opossums....hmmm...you're a brave girl! We've encountered two in our yard. One actually inside our side porch...it was a chore to get it out those claws are very, very strong!
I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy
