Hello Summer!

The first day of summer greeted me,
with sunshine
 and cloudless blue skies...

what a wonderful way to begin...

Sweet summer has arrived,
and the Sweetness Rose it's harbinger...

Lady's Mantle
a summery golden glow...

Foxglove and Toadflax,
frolicing...

topheavy Delphiniums
teetering...

basking in sunlight...

Snapdragons....

Ballerina Roses...

happy Bumble Bees
buzzing...

the first days of summer were
dog approved...

Iris played in the Deutzia,
hunting bees..

she sadly caught her first
and learned
some things bite back...

Cosmo played in the kiddie doggie pool...

Happy Summer!!

Today I am joining,

Thanks for joining me today...

Blue...

Well,
 Hello to summer...

I HAD great intentions
of building a blue tablescape,
in tribute...

while garage saleing this spring,
a few pretty blues
have found their way into my hands...

still pink
has it's hold on me,
and has dominated the table....

a pair of soft sky blue
 Fire King salad plates...

cutwork napkins,
edged in the same soft soothing blue...

a Limoges serving dish
that has sat on a shelf (dusty,  very dusty)
waiting for it's day in the sun...

a menagerie of mix matched silver
all around the table...

all garage sale finds...

a new tablecloth,
dripping in flowers...

Lemons...

just say summer...

a grouping of rose bouquets
in small simple creamers,  and tea pots
rambles down the table...

each small bouquet,
ready for relocation...

to a nightstand,
or sink side...

Happy Summer!

Tonight I am joining...

Thanks for stopping by today...

The Last Stroll of Spring...

Are you ready for the last
garden stroll of spring?

you know the drill by now...

grab your Wellies,
it's raining...

the Eden Roses
are quite the show off this year...

her weighty head tipping
 under the rain...

Feverfew and Toadflax
are popping open...

  filling in the areas
left empty by the early spring blooms...

with all the new blooms and fading blooms,
all blooming at once..

the beds are overflowing...

the Cedar Wax Wings
 are making their yearly visit...

the object of their desire,
these Rainer Cherries...

we'll see if they leave any for me...

Valerian...

  in two tones...

 Columbine and Jacob's Ladder...

dancing their last dance of the year...

the second bloom of the Peonies
is ending too...

but...
the Roses blooming...

the Queen of Sweden
still reigns supreme...

the regal ruffles,
of Winchester Cathedral...

the very first,
fresh unfurled Hydrangea...

Pink...

and Blue...

thanks for wading through the spring with me!

Maybe next week summer will bring blue skies
and sandals,
I am ready to put the Wellies away...

Today I am joining,

Thanks for strolling with me today...
