The Other Side...

The days of summer are fleeting...

there is so much to do,
so much to see...

a Sunday drive
is one of the great pleasures
 of summer...

a pretty view
of the valley in
 Naches, Washington...

We go East,
across Mount Rainer,
to the other side...

to where Washingtonians
would call the dry side...

Apple country...

many orchards are
planting espalier style now...

I don't think it is as lovely
as old fashioned rows...

the grace of where the trees meet
forming arches...

wouldn't this be a beautiful setting
for a rustic fall wedding?

bins waiting
to be filled...

Washington Apples,
coming soon
 to a store near you...

a charming Victorian Farmhouse...

the chickens were also eager
 to do some Sunday traveling...

see what is on the other side,
of the road...

our view
riding off into the sunset,
heading back
home...

I'll be joining

Thanks for stopping by...

I love a beautiful country drive and we actually live where people come out for drives from the city. :) There is an apple orchard down the road that will be opening this weekend. They have planted some trees in the esplanier style this year. Something new here. Love the apple tree archway and the mountain view. Thanks for sharing your drive. Blessings, Pam

Beautiful. We have a place called Apple Hill that we visit every autumn where there are hundreds of apple farms to buy from. Truly a favorite place here in the foothills of Northern California.

This looks lovely countryside and I agree that the apple trees look nicer in the old fashioned rows. Love that Victorian farmhouse too.

Last photo is absolutely stunning, how beautiful the world can be. I am also fond of the arching apple trees, so romantic. I too do like the old fashioned apple tree rows more than the espaliers but the modern way will be more efficient I think.

What a fun drive. The apple trees are so pretty. I don't know what espalier style is, but i do love the rows with the branches forming an arch. Such pretty country out there...

Thank you for sharing this great trip on your blog. We were in Oreegon last summer and enjoyed seeing the dry side and then crossing the mountains into the Williamette Valley. Your photos remind me so much our vacation. The apple trees are lovely with the abundance of fruit. We will be watching for the apples at our Tom Thumb. Have wonderful week!

You live in such a gorgeous part of the country, Bella! How lucky you are to have all that beauty so near. I love going apple picking here in New England in the fall... and then the baking begins!
