The Charmers...

I heard from my friend David
this week..

he is a charmer...

It may be silly,
but seeing Lady Bella in writing,
just makes me feel like I should
find a lace fan to flutter...

the new David Austin Rose Catalog
is one of the things that I look forward to after Christmas,

just when I need a winter boost...

my husband saw the catalog on my desk...

and said
"We need to sit down and make an order"

now that is charming,
my man knows my heart so well...

for now,
I am still enjoying my seven dollar grocery store roses...

filling them in with Carnations...

tucking them into china dishes,
and retucking them...

they are a
feast for the eyes,
but a famine for the nose...

I have been enjoying
these Moon Glow Carnations
for a couple weeks...

they just keep fading into softer shades,
lovely...

I hope you have found a mid winter diversion too,
stay cozy my friends...

I am linking up to

and

I Love it when You stop by...

Your market roses and carnations are wonderful, Bella, and the nosegays you've arranged are all so pretty. I love to see the different ways flowers fade, like a last gasp of beauty before the end. (Don't you love the way tulips "swoon"?) The arrival of the Austin catalogue each year is indeed a spirit booster. Mine should be arriving any day now. Happy ordering!

Yes I love David Austen roses too and because we had a tornado tear a huge tree out we are making new beds and adding more D Austen roses!! I am a pink or white rose person so that is what I ordered. I will think of your kindred spirit when I am planting them!

I too just bought roses but mine are not as classy as "grocery store" mine are Walmart. lol I was going through major rose withdrawal, glad I am not the only one. :)

Okay, that 'stay cozy my friends' got my day started with a nice chuckle. :0) I showed Mr. C. your house in the new header and his words were "cottage mansion." SO pretty. I can't believe you don't already have the lace fan, but you don't need one. I always think of you as Lady Bella. I think you may have started something! I am now seriously in need of a few slowly fading blooms . . . xx

Bella, your pictures are stunning.
Hope you are staying warm. How are the doggies doing? Do they like the cold? My diva Lili does not like to get her toes wet LOL.
Have fun picking out those beautiful roses. The gardeners are in the process of pruning mine.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Bella, yikes, your post just made me aware that I have forgotten to order the new David Austin catalog :-(! So British, that they addressed you as a lady. What women wouldn't like that? I bet they sell double as much roses this year :-)! Your husband is so sweet, wanting to order more roses for you. I guess, mine needs a little bit more training ;-)! Wonderful dreamy photos, I really enjoyed your post. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Oh what a lovely way to address your post. I hope when my catalogue comes it says the same. I am jealous. I love my David Austins too.
Your displays are beautifully romantic as always. x

Dear Bella, you have reminded me that winter pursuits include garden plans...I have been so preoccupied with the indoors, I have forgotten the garden! The best part of January is armchair garden dreaming...you have done that today....beautiful post...N.xo

Yes, it is such fun to go through rose catalogues in winter. It's what made it bearable for me last year and I think every year from now on just so I have something to look forward to in the spring! I have a couple of DA roses too and love them to bits. Have fun ordering, Maryann

Oh my Bella, I love David Austin roses! I had some at my previous home. I think I need that catalog as well. Your blooms are gorgeous and I would never have thought those to be carnations. Simply stunning! I have a link party, Share Your Cup Thursday. It's about sharing the things that make you happy. I'd love if you shared some time!
hugs,
Jann
