Love of Lilacs...

As I have said I am having a
 Love Affair with Lilacs..

they have been amazing this year....

it wasn't always so...

my Lilac hedge has been many years in the making,
we had early problems with blight...

since I garden organically
and actually use nothing in the garden but compost,
it was a long process of heavy pruning to remove all the disease...

I believe in natural selection in the garden
and that good soil goes along way...

this year
I have been rewarded
with many baskets
 full of blooms...

I'll share my Lilac Mantle tomorrow,
stop by for a virtual whiff...
ahhh...

I am linking up to...

Thanks for stopping by today...

Absolutely beautiful! I love lilacs too...mine are pretty much done for the year. I sure wish that they lasted longer, but it's lovely to have them while they're here!

Oh Bella, your lilacs are beautiful. I love them too, but they do not do well in So CA. I had one bush, but it never bloomed and then finally died.
Many thanks for sharing your beautiful lilacs.

I've never had lilacs in my own garden but I do love to see them in other people's gardens - I adore the scent of lilacs.

I LOVE Lilacs as well. Ours has done blooming now. Such sunbathing pictures. Lots of rain and wind here. All the Columbines in the garden have tumbled over, such a pity. Luckily we have your gorgeous garden to enjoy still ;)

Hi Bella, I am really pleased to read that you also garden organically! It is so much better for the environment and I believe better and much safer for the gardener as well.
Your lilacs are sooo... pretty! Love the photos with the basket.
As usual a wonderful post!
Have a nice day!

Love this post. I had lilacs last year. They lasted a few weeks until the person who volunteered to mow our lawn for me mowed them all down. I was devastated.

Beautiful colours of lilacs. I'm glad to see you believe in "feed the soil, not the plants" too.
