Sunday Drives...

I have never been bitten
by the travel bug...

I am happy at home,
a true homebody...

but,
I do love a Sunday Drive...

it needn't be far,
just a lazy drive on a country road...

over the past few weeks
I have been enjoying the sights of Spring...

by far
these sweet lambs
were the highlight...

just look at the spots on the left one!

this one smiling,
he must know
just how sweet he is...

there were other Sunday's
enjoying Spring blooms...

 tender wild violets,
pushing up through the moss...

a rain soaked bog,
full of Skunk Cabbage...

roadside blooms...

Trillium on the forests floor...

a sandwich lakeside,
watching the world green up again....

young ducks,
falling in love....

this weekends Sunday Drive
was postponed,
due to rain....

lots of rain....

so I just made a quick bouquet of
 Tree Peony blooms and Lilacs...

I brought out
my new rosy throw quilt...

Daisy was sure it was
just for her...

as soon as I shooed her away,
Randy jumped up,
eager to take over the warm spot...

well, if you can't beat them,
join them...

Sunday Naps
are almost as good as Sunday Drives....

I hope your Sunday was lovely too....

Thanks for riding along....

I love your peonies. For me, they are right up there with roses. A beautiful bouquet.
A nice drive on a Sunday is always good and especially in Spring. A sweet photo of your girl too.
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,

I love a Sunday drive too but we rarely get to take one as it's a busy church day for us and we usually end up taking Sunday naps. :) It's so nice to see the signs of spring in your area. Ours is slow in coming and I hope to get out for a drive one day to see what's new on the back roads. Have a wonderful week! Pamela

Hi Bella, I love, love, love your rose throw quilt! Can you let me know what brand it is and where you got it? Same for the rose cushion on the left side? I really would appreciate it :-)!
The bouquet of the tree peonies and the lilacs is just a dream. What a wonderful combination and it is so well displayed in the white pitcher.
As always, I loved to see your dogs, they are so adorable and photogenic. Wishing you a nice week!

I have travelled the world but I find it too fast now and don't like plane travel much so a country drive sounds good to me.

Hi Bella
I am new to your site and I found you one day through Cielo. I was simply awe struck with how beautiful your house and garden are. I spent an entire afternoon going back through your posts to 2010. You live in my dream house and your garden is absolutely perfect. You can certainly tell you put your heart and soul into caring for the all those roses.
I had never seen an Italian Greyhound before and they are just so sweet and expressive. I have cats and from what I read about them they are very cat like.
I am now an avid follower and cant wait for your next post with the lovely flower arrangements, or your latest garage sale treasure and of course your girls.

Bella, your Sunday drives are full of beauty and nature at its best. I also think a Sunday nap snuggled under that rosy quilt would be just as nice. '-)
Your peonies and lilacs are dreamy. Wish I could grow them here. Fortunately Trader Joe's sells lilac branches.
Thanks for the thoughtful note. Yes, the lavender poppies took their own sweet time, but what a show they gave me this year. I hope they will return. I"m harvesting the seeds.

Bella, your blog is one of my favorites, and this post is one reason why. So beautiful, calming, and peaceful. The lambs are so sweet, as well as the roadside flowers, and your peony and lilac arrangement is stunning. Napping is my favorite Sunday afternoon activity!
