Looking for Fall...

For me,
Fall is the hardest season
to embrace...

so last Sunday
I went looking for a little inspiration...

in the form of Pumpkin Doughnuts...

if right now you are thinking
"Bella, are you so fussy you eat doughnuts with a fork"

I'd have to tell you on this day
of seeking Fall inspiration...

it was a humid eighty five degrees,
and I just might...

besides isn't part of the delight of the "cooler season"
setting the table again
and saying goodbye to finger foods?

meandering home through the country
with my box of doughnuts...

I found this plump pumpkin
at a little farm stand...

Fall is looking better all the time!

tea and doughnuts,
inspiration...

yes!

 floppy blush toned roses,
top it off for me...

I hope you are enjoying
these first days of Fall too...

Happy Fall,  Ya All....

Summer Slips Away...

As Summer slips away today,
and we welcome Autumn...

I thought I would share
a mini garden tour...

an assortment of unshared photos
 from the Summer past...

it was a record breaking hot year
here in my corner of the Pacific Northwest...

I spent a lot of the time
looking for shady nooks in the garden...

bold and bright...

lanky Roses in the morning sun...

the Hydrangea's happy hues...

Perfect in Pink...

now that the weather is cooling
and the rain returning,
the Roses are gearing up for a curtain call...

I am sure
there will be a few more garden tours before frost...

I hope you will come along...

Thanks for stopping by...

A Dahlia Display Garden...

A couple weeks ago,
I visited Port Gamble Washington...

It's a beautiful historic town
I like to visit in the Winter...

I shared a post on a Christmastime trip
to there a few years ago,
you can view it here if you like
and enjoy a town tour...

on this trip,
it was all about the Dahlia's...

the town Post Office,
had a wonderful garden...

behind the post office,

the local Dahlia Society
had a big display garden...

a rainbow of color...

I am sure you can guess,
the pinks were my favorites...

or maybe,
 the purples were my favorites...

I think with Dahlia's
there truly is something for everyone....

they come in such a variety,
of colors,
shapes and sizes....

I hope you had fun
coming along...

I thought it was a nice last nod to Summer,
where did the time go?

Thanks for stopping by....

Sweet Summer Rain....

 After a long blog break
I feel refreshed,
recharged...

I would love to say
I tackled a lot of neglected projects...

but really,
the lazy days of summer
just consumed me...

after a hot and dry summer,
a few days of Sweet Summer Rain
have the garden feeling refreshed,
recharged...

in the endless hot dry days
(and my laziness)
the rose branches grew long and lanky...

the summer rain
 bending them...

until,
they succumbed to the temptation
of just lying in the Sweet Alyssum...

Brother Cadfael,
is a rose that struggled to be happy in the garden...

this year it has been covered
 in these big cupped roses...

a pure delight!
it has jumped right onto my favorites list...

I am in no hurry to charge into fall...

I plan to hold onto Summer as long as I can...

Thanks for stopping by....
