At the Edge of the Forest.... a Cemetery....

Onto each blog,
a little darkness must fall....

Happy Halloween
my friends...

won't you join me for a little walk?

 Here we are again
at the edge of the same forest
I shared with you in this post...

Lets look around this tiny cemetery...

sunspots appear mysteriously
in several photos,

maybe,
 just maybe
 the dead are saying hello...

the lovely sad inscriptions
nearly break my heart...

symbolic etchings
faded with age...

the graves of the wealthy...

and,
the handcrafted tombstones of the poor...

this one carved of wood...

to me
these mean more,
lovingly crafted...

stone with a tin topper...

so sad in the simplicity...

we are in the cemetery in Carbanado, WA...

a coal mining town,
that as all coal mining towns did saw a lot of tragedy...

12-9-1899
31 killed in an explosion...

the sorrow of a tiny isolated town
after such a tragedy
must be stifling...

if you would like to read more about the little towns history

the miners graves
line up along the back row of the cemetery...

raw coal,
on the ground...

Happy Halloween...

Black Hat Society....

 this year,
I have kept it light...

a soft and pastel Fall....

that being said...

a meeting of the Black Hat Society
was still in order...

the Black Hat Society swooped in
by broomstick
of course...

a tattered rose of yesterday...

feathers of a crow...

a hardened fruit...

a satchel of secrets...

a veil of silence...
shhhhh..

I hope you enjoy some good times
with friends this Halloween too...

Boo!

Shabby Silk Pumpkins....

We have had many a stormy cold night lately...

Prime time
to grab a cup of tea
fuzzy warm socks
and do a little crafting...

I started making these
Shabby Silk Covered Pumpkins
 and had so much fun...

that I even made two other sets
which I have listed in my Etsy shop right here...

My little trio
in a corner vignette...

I am so happy with the soft shades
for a feminine Fall d├ęcor...

Happy Shabby Fall 'Ya All
I hope you are settling in and feeling cozy too ....

Thank you for stopping by today...

Autumn in the Dining Room....

Well as I have said before
(ha ha)
Autumn isn't my favorite season...

I drug my feet as long as I could,
yet the Seasons still changed
without my permission....

Come along and
I will show you my Dining Room,
all cozy for Autumn...

I love the whimsical nature
of a crown on a pumpkin..

White Pumpkins
rule this queendom...

I do enjoy bringing out the
tarnished silver tea pots...

for Autumn I like my silver
tarnished with rich warm tones...

when Winter hits
I will polish it to a glistening cold silver...

a sweet little gold filigree and rose plate
grabs center stage...

dry Hydrangea from the garden
dot the sideboards shallow shelf...

a hot chocolate set
I picked up this year...

I made these Paper Birch Candles
the other day...

and I will be back to share a tutorial soon
(ok they are too easy to need a tutorial, but I will be back with the details )

ivory and blush paper roses...

Poppy Pods...
the beauty of nature
as art...
displayed under a glass cloche...

 From my Queendom to Yours,
Happy Fall....

Thank you for joining me today,
