This morning I saw in the news
they are calling this month...
The Junuary of our discontent...
The garden is thrilled
with all the rain,
I could use a little break...
I still got out for some light weeding
and deadheading today...
dodging the downpours...
they are painfully pretty,
I think...
she seems content,
though,
she always does....
the Columbines
have climbed to heights
like I have never seen before...
her full skirts flared...
twirling...
dancing...
happily...
in the rain...
for now,
the Queen of Sweden Rose
owns my heart...
I literally gasp
each morning when I visit her...
Gertrude Jekyll
in full showy bloom...
go on,
give her a sniff...
she smells sooo good!
Today I am joining...
Happy Weekend To You :-)

You would never know it was raining, the flowers still look in good condition. The raindrops just contribute a bit of shimmer to make your pastel blooms more elegant.
I will have flowers on my hollyhock from you this year, can't wait to enjoy them in my yard.

Breathtaking photography of your saturated garden. A price to pay, but what a reward! xx

So nice to see a Gertrude Jekyll rose. I had 3 and they were oh so perfumed. I lost them in a move, and this year my Queen of Sweden has the smallest blooms. Maybe she needs a shot of aged chicken manure. I love that pink lupine, I only have bright colors, I had not seen one in that pretty pink!
Hi Bella, Your roses are stunning, as are the lupine and peonies. The rain is a good thing - send some our way, please! Have a nice wknd.

What a pleasure it was touring your lovely garden.
Hi Bella, I'm not liking the rain the last few weeks either, but I know we will be happy to have full reservoirs and water tables before the heat of the summer sets in! My peonies have been wiped out, and the roses aren't liking it much either. Hydrangeas are just beginning to bloom--I'm so excited about that! Linda--your Pink Saturday neighbor!

Such lovely images, Bella!
even in the rain, your flowers dance.
It may be rainy but the flowers look pretty. I always love your garden pics. I tried to do a fabric covered egg at Easter like you did-- mine came out OK not as pretty as yours but it still was fun to try.
Dear Bella,
Wish you could show me around your garden for real! It's just the way I want my garden to be.
The rain makes makes everything so lush and green.
Happy new week!

There's nothing like wandering through the garden during or after a rain. (And it's the very best time to weed!) Your images are so pretty.
