A Room with a View...

We had a lovely holiday weekend,
very wet,
but lovely...

this afternoon we shared the last pieces
of the first Rhubarb Pie...

I thought as I set tea with the last two pieces of pie,
that I could never blog,
the first two pieces...

they are gobbled up too quickly,
hardly cool before the knife digs in...

we made a little nest in the sitting room,
watching the rain fall...

you have to learn to embrace the things in life
you cannot change,
and rain on Memorial Day in Seattle
 is tradition...

nice to enjoy hot tea...

in pretty mugs...

a few months ago I planted
some Fragrant Summer Blooming Daffodils,
I thought they would be fun to try...

I cut a bundle today,
and they smell amazing,

It's fun to have Roses and Daffodils at the same time!

I saved a pair of Princess Ann Rose blooms,
from nearly drowning...

the rain is tattering the roses up a bit,
but,  they couldn't be more treasured....

a room with a view,
a very wet view...

Thanks for stopping by today....

Oh Bella, everything is so very pretty - the flowers and the lovely cups for tea and the pie looks yummy.
Hope your roses are doing well, mine were stunning this year. I have dead headed them and they should be booming again, however I did get some stunning pictures of them.

Have a super week.
Mary

So much romance in this post. I know it's old, old hat to you, but a rainy day sounds dreamy. Love your beautiful cozy spot. Glad you told us those are daffodils. I would never have guessed! Love the shot into your dreamy garden. Pie looks yummy!

Hi Bella, as I'm reading your lovely romantic post I am listening to the soft pitter patter of the rain right outside my open window and it's such a wonderful addition to your beautiful post. Thanks for sharing all that romance and have a great week. Gina at Victorian Wanna Be

How beautiful your little "nest" is Bella... and that pie looks delish!... love love love rainy days like yours... we are having one like it today, and it is pure bliss!... my roses are loving the soft gentle rain... and I am loving that my roses starting blooming today... you are ahead of me on blooms, ours are a bit behind because of our cold, long harsh winter... but I think we both share our passionate love of roses... everywhere!... xoxo... Oh, I can just smell that pie, Bella!
And your tea room and setting is just beautiful and relaxing. I had hot chocolate with a friend that afternoon with the rain outside as wel on THIS side of the state where rain on Memorial is NOT usual. BUT my flowers are loving the cool weather and are so pretty and not burned by the sun as they are oin HOT memorial days. They are under my deck n the east side of our home, so they get the right amount of sun and afternon shade. I am loving the intensity of the color that is easy to see on the cloudy days of late.....I've been feeding kittens under the deck whose mother has stopped feeding them...so I am really enjoying te patio there, multiple times a day!
Hearts to you!
Betsy

Our views have been wet, too, for the past week. Hopefully nice this coming weekend. Oregon is green because of the rains, so do appreciate them, just not when planning a party.

It rained here, too, on Memorial weekend but then on Monday the sun appeared and temperatures warmed again. Your pie looks delicious! A perfect way to spend a drizzly day...
