Tea in The Sitting Room...

I thought I'd share tea with you
in my sitting room today...

give you a peek at the new sofas...

the room is a work in progress,
you know how it is,
you change one thing
then you need to fix something else,
and so on....

 my little old man Berry
was sure all the pillow plumping was for him,
and settled in for a nap...

he is an old dog and sound sleeper,
he never moved an inch :-)

the new sofas are both from IKEA,
the long one is the Ektorp Sofa
and the one on the window wall is the Ektrop Hide-A-Bed

I have been using vintage crochet edged sheets
to cover the seat of the sofas,
cause with six dogs,
this is easier than changing the slipcovers...

I am covering the sofas arms
with vintage crochet edges pillow cases...

I also plan to use a lot of throws
and quilts to cover in the muddier season,
yes,  in Seattle that is most of the year...

on to the tea...

 a perky cup...

 bite sized sugar cookies
sprinkled with powdered sugar...

 bottoms up...

 a cute book of poems...

 to ponder...

It's nice to take some time out,
for a bit of sweetness...

 Today I am joining...
and

Thanks for sipping with me today...

Hi Bella
I've never been to Ikea but have seen some nice pieces that you and others have shown. Our sofas are leather and should have been covered too but I never thought to do this - freshly groomed nails are sharp.
A lovely tea served with sweet heart cookies.

Bella, your vintage crochet edged sheets and pillow cases are very lovely. Which gives me an idea. Perhaps I can add crochet lace to some of my sheets.
I enjoyed the tea in your sitting room with pretty teacup and yummy-looking cookies. Berry is surely cute.

I love what you used to cover the couches--looks so pretty. I love your dogs--and I know all about muddy footprints here in Oregon. Where did you find that ruffled cloth on the table? Oh so pretty!

Love your sofas and yes, I too do the quick sheet to remove with three dogs on Vancouver Island on the wet coast. Makes life easier and snuggling on the sofa with the three more relaxing. Love seeing sweet Berry settled in his spot. Patty/BC

Hi Bella,
We don't have an Ikea here but if we did, I would have gotten a sofa long ago. I love the fresh white! Your whole setting is so soft and pretty. The teacup is lovely and your heart cookies look so sweet snuggled up to the cup. A lovely setting and post. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea. Happy Valentines day!

Blessings,
Sandi

Love your sofas, I do the same thing cover the seats with sheets with crochet edges. I have been using them so long that the sheets were getting holes in them so I just cut the edging off and sewed it onto another sheet. You puppy is sooo sweet!

I love the Ikea sofas, and I am sorry to say, covet them every time I visit Ikea.

My sofas are covered in white linen, etc, because I have cats & grandchildren who enjoy being with us and I refuse to be fussy with them about relaxing on the sofas. Like you, I discovered white linens, bedspreads, etc, are far easier to change & replace than slipcovers.

Everything here is so pretty, and I enjoyed seeing your "old man" curled up in the pillows plumped for him.
