I am a bath girl

all the way...

I can't remember the last time

I took a shower....

to soak in the tranquil waters,

can make all my cares go away...

a tubside tray of simple luxuries,

can make it decadent....

an old bottle,

filled with Lavender buds

 bath oil and essential Lavender oil...

makes a bath fit for a queen....

garden fresh flowers,

a must :-)

fresh Lavender sprigs,

beautiful now and beautiful later after they dry...

tucked away in this hatbox,

 is one of my favorite ways

to warm my bones in the winter....

tiny Rose Buds and Lavender Sprigs

dried in Sea Salt....

an old teacup,

makes the perfect scoop...

a cupful will chase away the winter chills...

indulge yourself....

Oh... The Lazy Days of Summer....

The lazy days of summer

have had me completely under their spell....

You may wonder what I have been doing,

It certainly hasn't been blogging!

truthfully,

I don't know...

my days are just drifting by

I am completely bewitched by the summer sun...

"Rest is not idleness,

and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day

or watching the clouds float across the sky

this is Melody Parfumee's first bloom this year...

she was too far beneath the shade of the Locust tree

that we lost to the heavy spring rain...

she is as thrilled to see the light

as I am to see her...

the rabbit watches lazily over

the overgrown summer flowers...

the Lillies perfume the entire garden...

I bought an entire cart load

of Easter Lillies left over after the holiday,

for fifty cents a pot...

the year I began the garden....

the Lillies are now often over five feet tall

and smell AMAZING....

yellow in my garden???

since I have been lazy,

the birds thought to do a little planting of their own...

the garden Phlox toppled over onto the Japanese Anemone,

to show they are a perfect color match....

Phlox also in white...

the borders are thickening up,

with clover!!

 the Pansies know fall is coming

  and their heads are popping up.....

the Primrose...(yes Primrose!)

seems to think spring is in the air....

after the strange year we have had,

maybe they know something I don't know :-)

Point Defiance Park Rose Garden...

I thought I would send you rosy thoughts this morning...

and share with you some of the pink Roses

at the Point Defiance Rose garden...

I shared the white roses and a glimpse of the Puget Sound

a few days ago here if you would like to see....

Point Defiance Park....

Point Defiance Park in Tacoma

is only forty minutes away,

and a favorite place to spend the morning

 a couple times each summer...

the parks boast lots of beautiful gardens...

my favorite being the rose :-)

the park also has a seven mile drive

that winds along the Puget Sound...

we usually bring along a lunch

 and watch the water while we eat...

the still waters of the sound,

are home to a variety of boats...

 and kayaks,

we were even lucky enough once to

spot a humpback whale...

Point Defiance is also a hub for several ferries...

and a billion barnacles also call it home....

are you ready for Roses?

of course :-)

we had a nice overnight rain....

so they are still nice and dewy....

I discovered the Matilda last year,

and fell head over heels for her....

her buds start the softest airbrushed pink....

I have tried to find her for sale at Rose Farms..

to no avail...

Matilda Rose is the late Heath Ledger's daughters name,

which is a wonderful name...

but makes it hard to find information on the actual flower....

big black bumble bees are busy at work,

this one landing gear ready....

I had to also share this two tone Hydrangea,

so soft!

the girls came along,

and did their usual thing :-)

they are five months old now,

Iris is eleven pounds and Daisy is twelve...

they actually do walk nicely,

but when you stop moving they collapse in play..

so all the photos seem to look like this....

and then there are the Pink Roses!!

my favorites...

but I will only tease you with them today,

and post them separately later this week
