A Christmassy Welcome...

Welcome to my Christmas Foyer....

 

 

my little foyer

was one of the first reasons

 I fell in love with my house...

 

the Victorians

loved their formal spaces,

 

they may not be the most user friendly spaces...

but,

I could hardly wait for my first Christmas here

to drape the stair rails in garland...

 

a settee and a tiny table nestle tightly

beneath the stairs...



to the right of the settee,

this hall tree...

 

a peek into my parlor

on the right

and

 to the left out of view

another door leads to the dining room...

 

 

my hall tree tabletop set in a Wintery scene...

 

you know

 I am Dreaming of a White Christmas...

with a birdie theme...

my curious little mouse,

has been wondering what I am doing down here....

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy....

 Christmas is Magic...

 

 

I believe

we all need a little

Sugar Plum Fairy in our lives...

 

at least at Christmastime...

 

 I know I do...

a small corner

at the bottom of my stairs,

is all it took...

Roses

for their toeses...

 



 

 

See the FAIRY PRINCESS curtsying,

gracefully,

beautifully,

Swaying to the tune. .

Music in the air. so entrancing.

Flowers in her hair as she's dancing.

Love is everywhere.

Ah-h-h-h-h-h-h-h.

'Neath the yellow lemon-drop moon.

There she goes now,

on her toes now,

To her yellow lemon-drop moon.

Random Christmas Sparkle...

 

How can there only be

 ten days left until Christmas?

 

I have so much to share with you!

 

tonight,

I'll share some random

bits of sparkle...

 

If you have joined me on Christmases past

you know,

 I love a Frosty Wintry look...

 

this year I used frost spray on all the mirrors

and some windows...

 

it makes it so festive,

even when it's unseasonably warm outside...

 



 

candles,

yet to be lit...

 

after the hurry

of Christmas prep...

 

it's the hush,

before the big day...

 

pops of vintage pink balls warm the chill...
 

tucked simply

into apothecary jars...

 



 

I have collected glass clip birds for a long time,

I brought out lots of them
 this year....

 

the ones that have lost their clips,

are great for tucking around...

 



 

 

these sweet silver birds,

were my only new purchase this year...

 

I like to tuck a little

bit of Christmas everywhere...

 

a few shabby bottle brush trees

were added to my kitchen windowsill...

 



 

bits of Summers dried Hydrangea and Roses

in old bottles

 line the windowsill too...

 

 

I added stretch rings

 with rhinestone designs...
 

to the throats of the bottles
for a little added sparkle....

 

 

I have so much to share with you,
