Lovely Lady Project Reveal..

A couple weeks ago...
 I shared with you
that I was having a fun project done
in my garden.
Here is  that post if you want to read it:-)

Here is my Lovely Lady now...
but before we look to close,
I should show you my dirty secret :-)

Here was the starting point.
This has been a dirty mess on the patio
for the last year,
just waiting for this project.

I have been wanting a small reflecting pond on the patio
since we first bought this house.
(there wasn't even a patio then)!

anyway...
on with the reveal!

First we had the greatest mason
build this little cement pond.

and at that point..
My plan was to stop there
and fill it with plants.

But then, We thought maybe we would add a little water feature...
so shopping we went!

Then I saw this lovely lady!

And since it is our early anniversary present,
we decided to blow the budget   treat ourselves...

I have a great view of her out my family room window,
and love the soft sound of the water splashing.

We placed her right into the pond...
because I love that she is barefoot!
A girl after my own heart:-)

Just for fun...
I set my film speed at sixteen hundred for this photo...
It froze the water drops it the air!
(you can enlarge the photo by clicking it)

and of course...
there have to be flowers!

Our garden centers don't have pond plants in yet,
so I had to "borrow" a few from Mike's pond.

Isn't the reflection in the water pretty?
I am gonna spend a lot of time sitting on the edge
gazing in this summer.

Today I am joining a couple fun parties!

Peony Tablescape...

It's time for another Tablescape Thursday...

I took the leaf back out of my dining room table again...
since it's just the two of us,
I enjoy the coziness.

And since truthfully...
 to me...
 it's all about the flowers!

A great big bouquet of Peonies with tufts of Lady's Mantle...
In a cut crystal wine chiller.

Smells so good!

Since I was in a pink mood...
I used my Pink Depression Glassware.

this water pitcher I picked up antiquing
in the early spring.

All the glassware doesn't match
but... I love mix and match best :-)

Isn't the swirl pattern pretty
with the light shining through it?

and this relish dish...
that I just as often use for sugar...
or potpourri :-)

Here's an overview...

Here is the place setting...
The silverware is the set I usually show,
it was my Grandmothers.

Here is the plate stack..

The bottom is a set I bought at Marshall's
pattern name "cottage"
so simple
with a basket weave design.

The center plate is Martha Stewart
Wedgwood
Martha's Garden Rose

The little fruit bowl on the top is vintage
Edwin Knowles.

Don't forget to go visit some more lovely tablescapes!

Whites in the Garden...

I am going to take you into the garden today..
No boots or umbrellas required today!
It's a beautiful day for gardening..
and I have been out enjoying it all day!

(click photos to enlarge)

A cute little white trellis,
I bought at Joann's Fabrics this spring.

I can't remember this plants name..
it has been in one of my flower beds for a few years.
It has the loveliest clusters of purple flowers,
and.. it is the most aggressive creeper!

I finally gave up on the battle and dug it out
and potted a bit of it.

A close-up of white Alyssum.
It's easy to overlook just how pretty
these clumps of tiny flowers are...
It's also nice being so close,
because they smell so good:-)

My Columbines are holding on...

The Delphiniums are really starting to bloom...

I love this white one with the layers of ruffled petals..

My foxgloves are starting to bloom too..
so elegant...

This white wire dress form is on my back patio..

I bought this little hanging tin wall pocket
at a garage sale.
and made her a pocket of flowers for her skirt :-)

That's all for today..
I hope you enjoyed searching the garden for whites
with me:-)
