My Old Halloween House...

We have been having our first fall storm

four days of wind and rain...

Laziness has filled my days

I was looking at old photos

and thought I would share a few,

timely ones....

 

 

We moved into our house

just a few weeks before Halloween,

eleven years ago...

 

It was an old Victorian House that I adored

 I had watching it, 

hoping to buy it someday...

A major fixer upper

with chippy paint

and a few rotting boards...

Not a plant in sight,

no real updates to the house in 50 years!

Although daunting,  a perfect blank canvas,

To build a dream on,

full of original features...

The stark original black and white color scheme

made a great Halloween backdrop

in it's simplicity...

Yes...

I loved crows even then :-)

These days

with it's pink exterior

 and lavender porch floors,

Eerie just doesn't work so well :-))

The night of the Halloween Moon...

The perfect time

for Sisters of the Moon

to gather for a soiree..

and a bit of tea...

You can park your broom here by the door...

Come sit for a spell :-)

The candles are lit...

A big pot of piping hot tea

is ready to warm your chilly bones...

The butlers have been turned to crows

to serve your every need..

Are you ready for them to pour you a cup?

We will be using my favorite Bone China...

How about a sweet for you?

My pretties...

Or perhaps with a long flight ahead of you

a nosh of fruit

will serve you better?

A little light reading,

to be shared among friends...

I have brought my Vintage Thingy...

Among such a group of witches,

surely someone will have knowledge

 of the mysterious powers it holds...

A Red Rose from my magical garden...

Pink October...

With the almost freezing temperatures at night

the garden is wrapping up...

Even with the fading colors

and their tattered edges

 the flowers still shine in amazing beauty...

The Asters grew so tall

they tumbled over,

their already fringed edges

fraying and curling...

The Hydrangea flowers have dried in place,

holding onto the most muted shades of pink...

The Queen Elizabeth Rose's

reign has sadly ended...

Her petals falling....

Floating elegantly in the little bird bath...

For one last moment of raw beauty...

Before,  she rests and prepares for another stunning year...
