Haunting Beauty...

An old graveyard seems like a good place

to spend Halloween....

Unless you are afraid?

A good place to to be at dusk

when the world of the living

and the world of the dead

are only divided by

a thin line...

energy swirls in the air...

Try to move quickly 

we don't want to get lost in the 

maze of pickets...

This marker is that of a young bride,

who met a tragic end on

her wedding day ;-)

We should tread quietly

for awhile...

Funny and a little eerie

that so much moss grows in a sunny location...

A bit of trivia...

This old and truly very lovely graveyard is in

Roslyn, Washington.

Roslyn is the town that the TV series

Northern Exposure was filmed..

A strange and non eerie thing about the cemetery is

that deer are always wandering about!!

 Who knows what they see after dark!!!

Just a Bit of Pink...

The wind and rain stopped for today...

 a little trip around the garden

was in order...

There among all the falling leaves,

and yes mud...

Was one tiny Guadalupe Rose

the last for this season...

Her pink petals so soft and subtle...

I paired her with a sprig of Dusty Miller

it's soft silvery shade and velvet leaves

seemed just right....

The silver gave me an excuse

to play with my new faux mercury glass votive cups

(from Target only ninety-nine cents each!)

A tiny vignette of flowers

to gaze upon on the cool night ahead :-))

Temptation...

When thinking about a tablescape

for tonight...

My mind was stuck on temptation..

The cool weather of Autumn

always gives me a sweet tooth

and a desire for carb loading:-))

Sometimes you must indulge...

So... I had to give in and make my favorite coffee cake

using my Moms recipe....

I'll serve hot tea with the cake,

Using sweet rosy teacups

with mismatched saucers...

Roses and Candlelight are always essential :-)

I used my favorite and often enjoyed

Fluffy Roses dessert plates

from Homer Laughlin...

The muted colors

went well with the soft toned fall roses...

My Grandmothers silver forks,

were laid on delicate

Rachael Ashwell Napkins

from target..

Simple and decadent

like a good dessert...

The centerpiece

is bits of fall colors from around the garden...

A few last pink roses

Stewartia Leaves and Beauty Berries...

The votive candles were nestled into

tiny tartlet pans

while a few crystals were scattered about the table...

The twinkles looked like stars on the

gossamer vintage tablecloth...

Mmmmmm...
