A Long Wait...

If you have read more than two of my posts,
you probably know
I am a garage sale addict...

There are some tough days of withdrawal
in the cold wet winters here....

so I do more antique store shopping in the winter...

(click photos to enlarge)

I found these plates on one of those days,
They are more yellow than I would normally choose...

but when the days are dreary,
 a pop of springy yellow
can call to you like a siren...

so I have waited and waited to use them
in a tablescape...

Today, the time was right...

since there is still a chill in the air,
I set my table in front of my faux fireplace...

It keeps my spirit warm :-)

a bouquet of Magnolia,  Hyacinths
and that white flower,
 who's name still eludes me...

Graces the center of the table....

a depression glass tumbler
serves as a vase,
it has no mate and I often use it for a vase....

who needs dessert when a Camellia blossom
sits so well in the compote...

dainty napkins...

and yes flowers just to scatter about
a bit...

Hurray for Spring!

The linens, depression glass and silver
are garage sale finds...
Spring plates are an antique store purchase...
pink chargers purchased at Ross many years ago...
the depression glass compotes a gift from my Mom...
flowers a gift from Mother Nature :-)

Today I am joining...
and

Thanks for joining me today!

Showers, Flowers and Snow?

I've been wanting to get out in the garden
but,  it has been a real soaker out there...

 things can always change...
a chance of snow is in the forecast!

We better go poke around while we can...

What is spring without eggs?

The Leonard Messel Magnolia is popping open...

please pardon the blurry photos
it's pretty windy today:-)

a group of ruffly Daffodils...

New to the garden last year
blue Anemones...

also new from last year...
white Anemone,
I love the droopier head on these...

The first tulip of the year....

(Grape Hyacinths)

When it's nasty outside...
I find it's best
to just to bring the flowers in to enjoy :-)

wishing you sunny skies!!

Today I am joining...
at a Beach Cottage

Let's go Visiting...

Today is a special day!
It is my friend Jacqueline's
one year blog anniversary...

I thought we should pop over and say hi :-)

(click photos to enlarge)

This is the gate to her garden...
a fairytale gate to be sure...

Jacqueline loves the tale of
Wind in the Willows
and it's easy to imagine
Mole and his friends hanging out in such a place...

I first met her when we were new bloggers,
wet behind the ears :-)

we shared a love of linens and lace...

her collection is enviable to be sure!

This is my favorite photo...

The birdcage, the airy lace, the light,
pure whimsy,
soft and romantic as a dream...

she is a lover of roses...

I learned of her love of the old Victoria Magazine...

it shows...
in her perfect styling...

the use of light in her photos
captivates me...

as time went on I learned the most endearing thing
about Jacqueline...

she dances to her own beat....

If she enjoys the mark on the back of a plate,
she displays them that way...

and the backwards books,
well they intrigue me...

as do her writing skills,
some blogs are a lot of pretty photos and I love that!
but... Jacqueline has a great gift of language
and can weave a pretty story
to go with her lovely photos...

her photos are filled with gentle implications,
that keep you on your toes...

not to mention her love of words,
 often sends me
looking for the dictionary :-)

all that and she has the cutest store,
which she shares photos of
every now and then...

so stop by and visit Jacqueline
and wish her a happy blog anniversary...

or if you are super lucky and live in New Mexico
pop by her store and say hi!

Thanks for being a friend Jacqueline,
I look forward to many more blog anniversaries :-)

I am showing off Jacqueline's Cottage at...
