My Stick Christmas Tree (literally!)...

I have been slow to start my Christmas decor this year...

I am usually
a get it all done the weekend after Thanksgiving girl...

this year I wanted to shake up tradition,
try something different,
leave the fake trees in the attic,
dream a new dream...

do you nest hunt?

in the autumn
when the last leaves have fallen
I love to look for nests...

these mossy delights
are the most common nest style found here...

tradition says that a nest in your Christmas Tree,
will bring you luck in the coming year...

so when I found this nest
in this perfect little tree top,
I decided to make it my tabletop tree...

besides with two puppies
a tabletop tree was a good idea!

the pups are eight months old now,
what I think of as the rebellious teenage years :-)

a pretty little silver bird
roosts in the nest...

and sparkle was added...

snow and ice are a common theme
in my Christmas decor..

because,
I am always dreaming of a white Christmas...

I love the soft ghostly patina
of vintage balls...
only a hint of color remains...

the silver bird looks content,
maybe she too is dreaming of a White Christmas,
snuggled warmly in her soft mossy nest...

Today I am joining...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving...

full of love
and lots of yummy treats...

have you ever seen these fake wishbones?
we are vegan so when I saw these a few years ago
I bought a whole tub,
they break just like the real thing...

and you know,
you can never have too many wishes :-)

Sleeping with Rachel ;-)

I have been waiting
for our weather to turn cold...

so I could put my new Rachel Ashwell comforter
on the bed...

you didn't think I meant something else did you?

I love the soft pink rosy design,
so cheery...

and as luck would have it,
I already had this sheet set that matched the ruffles
on the comforter...
(that is also the reverse side pattern)

and I thought I would share my new bedroom wall color,
it is Gloaming by Martha Stewart...

since gloaming is a poet word
for twilight or dusk,
I thought it was a nice bedroom color...

I should really never read the names on cards,
they can turn love to hate
and vice versa...

and here is a link to the old color...

I like the soft blushy tone,
it's so relaxing...

I have had this vanity for a couple years
and it's been on my "to paint list"...

with the lighter wall color my "to paint list"
has grown...

I am lovin' it...

on the headboard
wispy remnants of summer...

just pinch and sniff
to be propelled back to a summers day
and insure sweet dreams...

my bedside standards...
a vase for flowers
and this little hand dish to hold trinkets from the day...

Today I am joining...
