The Last Tea of Spring...

Summer is almost here...

it's time to sing a swan song to the spring...

I went to my favorite garden spot,
for a little tea time...

dry under the gazebo,
listening to the soft hush of rain falling...

gently...

Gertrude Jekyll joined me...

and on occasion a wet dog,
begging me to come back inside...

have I told you this about my prissy
pack of dogs?

they very much dislike
being wet...

they are catlike...

a soft colored cup,
like the softness of the day...

a bundle of flowers...

Fever-Few,  Lupine,  and Toadflax...

I baked mini banana nut muffins,
because it's still cool enough to enjoy baking...

tucked in sprigs of Lavender,
because,
 they are wonderful!

with the summer there is so much to come,
but I will miss the spring...

Today I am joining...
and

Thanks for sipping with me today...

Strawberries in the Arbor...

Today we really lucked out,
it all came together...

my Mr. had an impromptu day off...

the sky cleared
for some afternoon sun...

yes sun!

the Zephrine Drouhin Roses
are putting on the best show of their lives...

so I built a cozy nook,
under the arbor...

brought out a few pieces of my
Homer Laughin dishes...
Virginia Rose
(aka fluffy roses)

and a delicious first,
the first strawberries from the garden this year...

grabbed some mix matched silver...

Harlow Carr Roses
and Lady's Mantle for the table...

and settled in..

a view from inside...

watching the shadows
getting long across the garden...

Today I am joining,

and

Thanks for stopping by today...

still rules mightily...

tender Bonica is unfurling...

raindrops on roses
and whiskers on kittens...

a top view of an unusually
curly Toadflax...

Columbine,
yep, in the rain...
you do sense a theme here...

a bit of sun..

Lavender preparing for the show...

the best place in the garden to weed,
is always by the Lavender...
