Let the Baking Begin....

Today marked the beginning
of baking season around here...

when the holidays draw close,
it's nice to have easy to serve
sweets for surprise guests...

today I made my first fruitcake...

I have always loved them,
but never made my own...

I made one to enjoy fresh,
and one to cure in brandy for Christmas Eve...

I still haven't finished decorating...

this year just feels like a quieter year,
a simpler year,
a year to enjoy loved ones...

stacks of ruffled plates...

 a clutch of silver forks,
simple and yet special...

snowy lace...

the twinkle of
cut glass and candlelight...

reflecting back on a happy year...

I hope you have
something sweet on your plate today...

today I am joining
Home @ Rose Chintz Cottage
and

Thanks for visiting me today...

A Christmas Wonderland, Leavenworth, Wa...

To fill myself with Christmas spirit,
I always need a little snow...

so on Sunday
we headed over Stevens Pass, WA...

a postcard perfect wonderland...

to another wonderland...

the tiny town of Leavenworth, WA...

when the small town was struggling
due to the train lines being closed,
they reinvented themselves...

as a Bavarian Christmas Village...

olde world style...

the main event is the tree lighting...

and then the town...

there are smiles on every face..

everyone is either cuddling someone they love,
or taking pictures...

the favorite store
in the town square...

Kris Kringl,
the Christmas shoppe...

they have everything
to make your days Merry and Bright...

the shoppe's centerpiece,
this tree that snows!

walking in a
WINTER WONDERLAND...

Today I am joining

Thanks for coming along...

Decking the CAGES....

I bought a couple of birdcages
last month...

and thought I would deck them out for Christmas...

everyone is feeling Merry...

some music to tweet along to,
they are Dreaming of a White Christmas too...

a pair of reindeer
are bedding down in this giant cage...

it covers the top of the armoire...

I am a little behind in finishing decking my halls,
we decided to do a couple last minute projects...

and you know how last minute projects are,
they always take longer than expected...
:-)

I hope you are basking in the Wonder of Christmas....

Today I am joining,
and

Thanks for stopping by....
