something simple,

can become so important,

when it's tucked under a cloche....

 

 



 

I am a little embarrassed

to show you,

that I still have my ruffled tablecloth on my table...

 

it has been taken off a few times,

but I always miss it...

 

I have ruffle fever and there is no cure!

I thought I'd take you out in the garden today,

the roses are blooming...

and they are soaking wet...

grab an umbrella :-)

it has been a wet week...

 

the mornings so fresh,

the garden so lush,

the weeds so happy...

 



 

almost Eden...

 

thin new growth

bending under the weight...

 



 

big cup shaped blooms

so full of water,

they are spilling over...

 

 

taking a good deep drink,

the sun will be shining soon...

A Room with a View...

We had a lovely holiday weekend,

very wet,

but lovely...

 

this afternoon we shared the last pieces

of the first Rhubarb Pie...

 

I thought as I set tea with the last two pieces of pie,

that I could never blog,

the first two pieces...

 

they are gobbled up too quickly,

hardly cool before the knife digs in...

 



 

we made a little nest in the sitting room,

watching the rain fall...

 

you have to learn to embrace the things in life

you cannot change,

and rain on Memorial Day in Seattle

 is tradition...

 

nice to enjoy hot tea...

a few months ago I planted

some Fragrant Summer Blooming Daffodils,

I thought they would be fun to try...

 

I cut a bundle today,

and they smell amazing,

 

 It's fun to have Roses and Daffodils at the same time!

 

I saved a pair of Princess Ann Rose blooms,

from nearly drowning...

 

the rain is tattering the roses up a bit,

but,  they couldn't be more treasured....

a very wet view...
