Unforgettable...

Hello May,
don't you love May?
I do...

last week,
my friend Jacqueline at Cabin and Cottage
showed off some lovely vintage fashions,
and mentioned
 the PBS show Mr. Selfridge...

well,  I have learned when Jacqueline recommends a TV show
to pay attention,
she has very good taste!

she was the one who pointed me at Downton Abbey,
enough said....

on an episode
of Mr. Selfridge...

when designing a signature perfume
for the store,
Lily of the Valley was chosen to be the scent...

Henri Leclair
explains to Angnes Towler...

in Paris on the First Day of May
young lovers
give bundles of Lily of the Valley to each other...

I find that completely sweet...

I may not be in Paris,
or exactly young...

but,
still...

I picked a bundle for my lover...

for truly,
love is always young at heart,
and we can dream of Paris...

Happy May Day!!

Millinery Eggs for Easter....

I try to mix up my Easter decorating each year,
some years like this I just do a little
and other years I go all out...

I always bring out my millinery Easter Eggs...

I made them years ago
and shared them my first year blogging,
but back then
I didn't know most of you...

they are Paper Mache Eggs
covered in silk,
with vintage millinery flowers,
tulle and ribbons...

frilly and girlie...

my Mount Tacoma Tulips
are blooming
and made a pretty pairing...

Wishing You
a wonderful Easter Weekend...

Lost in the Garden...

I have been lost
in the garden....

completely absorbed by the beauty of Spring....

Blue Skies
and
Pink Trees...

my utopia...

the flower beds
are filling out so quickly...

it is a wonder really,
how quickly it all happens...

like tissue paper pom poms...

the perfect blooms
of the Kwanzan Cherry...

the last tree to bloom here
and the best in show...

Pink Geraniums...

now fill
my front porch planter...

simple and cheery....

Woody Hyacinth...

I believe fairies
must dance beneath the forest of bells
in the moonlight...

Violets...

intoxicating...

Money Plants blooming...

Forget-Me-Not...

everyone has an
extra spring in their step...

or swish in their swim...

My newest back porch planter
and Paul's Himalayan Musk Roses
leaning in from the left...

I planted Paul last year...
he is as healthy as can be,
and already covered with tiny buds...

Roses soon...
ahhhh...
