Into the Garden Some Rain Must Fall...

We enjoyed so many
beautiful sunny days...

But,  then some rain must fall...

the garden likes it
and so do I...

cozy days to relax...

moderation,
would be nice...

too much rain
and the blooms topple over...

quiet time on the bench
between downpours...

the rain keeps the heavenly scent
of the Winter Daphne
strong,  heady and close to the ground...

intoxicating...

"A life is like a garden.
Perfect moments can be had,
but not preserved,
except in memory"

wise word from Leonard Nimoy's final Tweet
Rest In Peace

Happy Weekend to You...

A Case of the Giggles...

Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote
"The Earth Laughs In Flowers"
speaks to my heart...

in the early Spring
I feel like the earth has
a Case of the Giggles...

bursts of joy
popping out everywhere...

as the
New Dawn Viburnum fades...

so do the tiny blooms
of the Sweet Box...

as the big Spring clean up begins...

much of the garden
appears colorless
and looks more like a snapshot of Fall...

a closer look
shows the real story...

the small new beginnings...

new flowers
are beginning to pop too..

like this Winter Daphne...
you can smell it's sweet scent wafting all around the garden...

the first cheery Camellia blooms...

in the kitchen garden...

Strawberry leaves unfurl
and my mind wanders to thoughts
of Summer Days and Pie!

the Garlic are up
like soldiers all in a row...

I smile my way through the
garden chores...

raking,
sweeping,
mulching,
weeding...

because it is my joy...

Even Mr. Rabbit
has a shy case of the giggles...

Happy Friday!

Busy as a Bee...

The weather has been amazing!

we have been enjoying
strings of dry 60 degree days...

so unlike Seattle in February!

So we have been soaking it up..

and as Busy as Bees,
catching up on garden chores...

speaking of Bees...

I am always surprised
to see them out and about
as soon as the first blooms pop open...

the Humble Bumble Bee...

at the end of each day
I am dog tired...

there have been too many lazy days of Winter
and it's time to get back in shape...

my girls
(Iris and Daisy)
on the other hand
have little to be tired about...

I will bee back soon
with more of the garden to share...

Thanks for stopping by....
