A Little Stroll...

When Heather at Dusty Bay showcased Snowberries
on her beautiful garden blog...

I knew... I would have to take a stroll
to the local river...

(click photos to enlarge)

and gather a bundle for a little centerpiece...

I quickly learned the twigs are far too delicate
support the berries in an upright position!

So I stood a couple of heavy twigs in the center
to support the heavy berries...

While I was wandering by the river
I lucked out and found this sweet little nest..

I feathered my new nest
with a few berries and a dried rose...

A happy bit of late day sun
shining in the window...

A birds eye view :-)

After my cold little journey
hot oatmeal raisin cookies are a nice way to warm up...

I hope you enjoyed your journey today?

Pink Pine Cones...

(click photos to enlarge)

A picked up four small pink pine cone ornaments
and knew just what they would be perfect for...

I collect old flask shaped bottles
that have turned purple in the sun

but they have no stoppers...

These little pine cones are a perfect fit!

Since I try to refrain from decorating for Christmas
until after Thanksgiving....

This was a great way to play
without really being Christmassy :-)

I am completely pleased with the results!

pink pine cones "floating" on a mirrored lake...
 sweet and sparkly...

Dreaming of White...

Ever since the mention of snow
has been is our forecast
I have had white on the brain!

I love the snow...
Not really to play in,
just to snuggle up inside and watch it fall...

(click photos to enlarge)

So I have built my tablescape all in white
with just twinkling glass accents...

A cozy table for two

a gathering of mismatched glass candlesticks
serve as the only centerpiece...

The candle sticks themselves are also varying heights
adding to the casual romance...

This tablecloth has been on my table too long!
It is a favorite
with it's gossamer rose pattern...

My plates are simple everyday wear
but the frilly edge detailing
has always reminded me of snowflakes...

Pretty vintage napkins...

Twinkling lights...

If I wish it hard enough
maybe the snow will really come!

Tonight I am joining...
