My Stockings are Hung,

by the Chimney with Care...

I guess

 I am a few days early :-)

but,  I wanted to share my

almost no-sew stockings...

I made these YEARS ago...

the stocking itself is just quilt batting,

mine is unbleached and natural...

the only sewing is

stitching the front to the back,

no need to hem...

the lacy details

are cut from cheap by the yard lace,

attached using two sided Stitch Witchery...

you just position the lace as you please

and iron it on!

so easy....

a little bouquet of flowers is hot glued on the top...

that's all :-)

Christmas Cookies and Tea...

I love baking for Christmas...

After the house is all decked out,

I love to spend a couple quiet evenings baking...

Christmas music softly playing,

the smell of hot cookies...

so relaxing...

for the last days before the big day,

I like to set my sideboard up as sweet central...

it's easy entertaining for stop by guests,

and right at hand to accompany a cup of hot tea

or just nibbling....

the upper ledge of my sideboard

never seems to change too much...

I enjoy the mix and match candles,

 with seasonal this and that's tucked in....

like these dainty wings

I am obsessed with...

(I found them at Pier one,  for under two dollars a pair)

and the sweets....

Cranberry Noels...

always sugar cookies...

another obsession...

Pecan Sandies...

a plucky bird,

thinking about swiping a cookie....

 I hope you'll grab a cup...

and something sweet...

and relax a minute with me...

Lighting Up the Long Dark Nights...

the longest night of the year is almost here....

and I have been looking for fun ways

 to add a little glow to my evenings....

my old metal birdcage was displaced

 for my Christmas display,

and looking kinda boring,

so I decided to add some tea lights...

It makes a pretty lamp :-)
