April has been a wild and wet month here,
tomorrows weather forecast calls for
up to an inch of snow...
no one is more thrilled than the Dandelions
who are growing like crazy...
(salad anyone?)
(click photos to enlarge)
so I have been doing a little garden shopping..
I filled my chair planter with Pansies,
and added a chippy teacup
for a pop of color till the Pansies fill in...
I bought a new Fuchsia...
The bulbs are still thriving....
Bluebells run rampant in the valley...
when I moved into my house
there was no landscaping...
sweet neighbors brought Bluebell bulbs by the bagful...
Ajuga spikes are shooting up everywhere...
the little path that leads to my swing
feels like a soft meadow...
covered in tiny blooms...
Forget-Me-Nots and Violets
with Dandelions mixed in...
The Forget-Me-Nots
were a stow away on another plant I brought home,
they self seed very freely...
Fawn Lilies are a Native Plant here...
and so elegant...
I bought three plants at a conservancy sale years ago...
they are reliable bloomers but don't spread,
so my small clump is a treasured delight...
Money Plants and a shy rabbit...
When it rains
or well really anytime :-)
One of the best parts of the garden is
bringing it inside....
the Rose is a miniature,
last year I bought one at the grocery store,
and planted it outside to see how it would fare...
It thrived,
so I am planting a small grouping...
the Davidiii Viburnum smells wonderful
and I love to keep a vase of it on my nightstand...
not all that grows in the garden
is flowery...
my husbands favorite garden delight
The first Rhubarb pie of the year...
Today I am joining...

Your tiny blooms along the path to your swing are simply delightful! You have inspired me to get some forget-me-not and violet seeds to plant in my garden.
Despite your wild and wet April, your garden is way ahead of mine. Thank you for the post, I enjoyed the tour. I photoed the carnage that is my garden at the moment, finally all the piles of snow smashing it have melted, time to clean it up!
Loved the chipped teacup in the garden. What a lovely idea. The rhubarb pie had me salivating. Ours are just small leaves. Beautiful photos of your garden. V

Your garden is so pretty. I hope it doesn't snow too much to hurt your pretty plants. I can't wait for the rhubarb to come up here. It's just starting now. Blessings, Pamela

Hi sweet Bella! Our spring has been extremely wet, too. Ugh!! But at least I finally see buds on my lilac bushes and the peonies are peeking their ruby heads up from the ground. Yay! I adore the photo of your swing. Looks so ethereal! And my fav pie looks yummmmy!!! :)

My sweet tooth acts up exactly this time of night! You got me with the rhubarb pie! Saboteur! Ha! Love your sweet flowers. That little cup in the garden is cute. The fawn lilies look like little fairies. xx
Beautiful photos of a beautiful garden. I especially like the one with the swing; it's so dreamy and romantic.
So lovely pics and beautiful garden!
Dearest Bella,
You might have rain but therefore your variety of spring flowers by far exeeds those that 'make it' here! that looks gorgeous right now. And to top it off, my favorite 'Rhubarb'... We tried that about three times and the last time believe it or not; termites had eaten it! The stalks kept falling over... Too bad as I LOVE it.
Great photos as always.
Lots of love,
Mariette
OH my goodness Bella, your flowers are stunning. We are slow to get started, but I am getting my fix from your beautiful blog. Thanks for the smiles.
Hugs,

Such a lovely lovely garden. And the photo of the swing should be in a magazine. I just know it would be accepted in Romantic Homes or such.
