Don't you love to sit quietly at night
and soak in the holiday sparkle...
the house is almost silent,
cozy...
sit by the fire..
an implied fire,
may not make heat...
but,
sure can make you feel warm inside...
a late night treat...
the last two pieces of cake...
my Mr. is the breakfast cook,
but baking is not something that excites him...
once a year
he bakes me my favorite dessert,
Pineapple Upside down Cake...
a simple loving gesture,
tradition...
a simple tablescape,
really it's barely a tablescape at all..
still,
an excuse to enjoy pretty dishes...
delicate silver forks...
and my favorite Rachel Ashwell napkins...
special needn't be fancy or over the top...
just in your heart...
I hope you find the time to sit quietly
and soak in the holiday sparkle..
:-)
Today I am joining...
Thanks for joining me tonight...

Bella, that is just so pretty! I love the lighted angel! And pineapple upside down cake made by your hubby? So special. Hugs, Pamela
Thank you Bella (lovely lady) for your beautiful pictures and words, which brought tears to my eyes. This is why my aging husband and I have just bought our first house together and will be retiring to the country in a matter of weeks. When he gets home tonight, I'll show him The Two Last Pieces of Cake...and have the tissues ready.
Beautiful--looks so sweet and romantic!

What a fun birthday tradition! Happens to be one of my favs too! (Pineapple upside down cake.) What a man! Such a lovely place to sit. The little niceties on the table make it so much better!
What a special and romantic vignette! The napkins are so delicately divine!!!
This is so cozy and VERY romantic...so sweet that he bakes your favorite cake. Your dessert table looks beautiful.
Beautiful Room! The couch is a lovely soft pink and can be a great retreat for the two of you. The last of the cake is a celebration with all the trimmings. You have a moment of Christmas romance. Is the china Homer Laughlin or Alfred Meakin for it seems so familiar? Merry Christmas and Happy Tablescaping! Pam
