My Valentines Day present from my sweetie
arrived today...
it's a little late
you say?
well,
I like jewelry, but don't wear it...
like chocolate, but don't need it...
But I LOVE ROSES,
so he suggested we ordered a bunch of roses...
(pitter patter)
on Valentines Day
we tattered the pages of the David Austin catalog
picking favorites..
we had so much fun,
this is going to be a
new tradition...
my big box arrived today...
they are mailed at the appropriate time
for your climate...
but I do admit,
I got anxious
and called to check on them a couple weeks ago...
yep,
a dozen rose
BUSHES!
I am eager to meet Mortimer,
James...
and ten of their closest friends...
I have a busy weekend ahead...
planting...
planting is my thing,
I LOVE to plant!
it is raining cats and dogs today...
but here is a quick peek at my Eden Rose...
she is looking good,
no buds yet...
on a post about roses,
there should be roses!
so I dug around my pics...
to share these...
Take the Time to Smell the Roses :-)
Today I am joining...
and
Wishing you a Sweet Day:-)

Hi there!!! Best new sweet tradition probably ever!
Happy planting friend <3
This is true love! Seeing your old rose pictures reminded me of how much I miss your beautiful garden. So sorry about the rain! Crikey! Our nursery gets DA roses. They are due here this week. We will try one or two since we kill everything. Funny. I don't wear jewelry either. Are you my better looking much younger twin?
Lucky You! I was so excited to get my one David Austin rose...you have a great husband:)! Can't wait to see them when they start blooming. The one I got was the climbing Eden. I wish I could see into the future how pretty it will be:)
Oh what a wonderful idea! I ordered MANY lavender plants and I was wondering when mine will come in as well. You are so lucky!!!
What an utterly fabulous Valentine gift idea, Bella!! I think I need to introduce my husband to yours. lol! There's no better, no prettier rose than a DA rose! :)

Hi Bella,
I have missed getting over to visit! But what a great post to come to today! How wonderful for you! What an awesome special Valentine's gift. I can't wait to see what you do with those roses!
Can you do a post sometime with wide range shots of your gorgeous home and landscaping?
Hugs to you,

Lucky you! That is the perfect Valentine's Day gift.I have a few DA roses and I love each one more year after year. They are always so beautiful and romantic.
Eden is one of my all time favorites.
I live in southern California and most of my roses are beginning to bloom and look beautiful with the lavender plants.
Enjoy planting your roses and I look forward to seeing your first DA blooms.
I ordered about 15 David Austin roses for the first time a couple years ago... They are growing beautifully and the blooms are spectacular! Good luck with yours.
Ciao,
Mary
Bella: What a great gift. Worth waiting for. DA has beautiful roses. I have two DA's that are coming along pretty good this season. The pink roses are delicious..Happy Friday..Judy
A lovely gift. It will be so satisfying watching them grow.
What a lovely gift, David Austin's roses are always so beautiful.
How wonderful. A gift that keeps on giving! I love getting the rose catalogs and dreaming of beautiful roses. However the best roses for our Florida climate are Knockout roses. They are pretty but not like David Austin pretty. Enjoy.

Beautiful! I am awaiting a delivery of David Austin roses too, and this post has made me SO excited! Thank you for sharing your wonderful Valentines present - you have a delightful blog!
What a beautiful gift, Bella! David Austin roses are just so lovely. It must have been difficult to choose. Did you pick certain colors? Are their climbers? Oh, I wish you the best luck with them and hope they give you years of happiness and sweet smelling roses for your garden and home!
Hi Bella
My article for next week is somewhat about David Austin roses - I'll send it to you.
That was a good idea to choose roses for Valentine's day, you'll have something that lasts and will bring you enjoyments.
Judith
So wonderful! My son ordered some for Christmas and they arrived and are already blooming! Funny how planting zones vary!
