When a rainy day
and a Monday overlap...
you know plans for the day
won't be met...
you must give in...
slow down,
and listen to the rain
pounding on the roof...
build a snug corner...
for window watching,
for daydreaming...
notice,
the grace of rain heavy flowers,
drinking it all in...
notice the leaves
changing color...
because only yesterday
they still seemed green...
collect a few things for your
cozy nest...
no books,
or other interferences...
just the world passing
outside the window...
slowly...
hot cookies are
a rainy day's
very best friend...
a gathering of fall floral...
a Casper Pumpkin,
Pee Gee Hydrangea sprigs,
Bonica Roses,
and her hips too...
a mix match cup and saucer,
just casual...
chosen because
the deep ribs of the cup
looked like the ones on the pumpkin...
faded roses...
more,
faded roses...
I should go pour the tea,
before the cookies are gone!

This post is so lovely! That little bench in front of the window is precious. I love that white pumpkin with the sprigs--so pretty. Makes me want to sit and drink coffee and watch the rain.
