It happened,
the first hard frost
of the season set in...
the shady parts of the garden
sparkling in an icy frosting...
grab some hot cocoa and mittens
and come along...
dipped in sugar...
it's always sad to see the Roses go
for the year...
but,
what a grand curtain call...
I love all the natural bokeh
in the photos...
all the little icy sparkles
created magic...
the Hydrangea...
fresh water
replaced ice in the bird's water bowl...
it looked like a hot tub
and was very popular....
Goodnight Garden...
I am joining...
Thanks for joining me today,
stay warm...

What beautiful roses, sprinkled with Mother Nature's glitter! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
It's always so bittersweet for me to say goodbye to my garden till Spring too Bella... but your photos are so beautiful... do you snip any and take them inside?... I ran out to my garden in the 100 mph east canyon winds we are having right now along with snow and snipped two perfect white rosebuds kissed with frost and brought them inside to dry... they looked sooo cold and lonely out there amongst the barren bushes, I just had to save them... winter brings it's own quiet beauty to our gardens though... and even though it is not even Christmas yet... my thoughts start turning to Spring... and what new pleasures my garden will bring... xoxo Julie Marie
Bittersweet...how can I feel a sadness while witnessing such splendor?

The frost on the roses and hydrangea look so beautiful. When you are missing your garden, just look at the splendor of these.
Hugs, Lynnie

Hi Bella, you took some spectacular photos of roses and other plants with hoarfrost. So beautiful! But there is certainly some melancholy to them as well. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!
