This morning
we had a dusting of snow...
just a dusting.
I saw the Snowdrops in the garden
their heads were up,
but still closed...
I snipped a handful
of the almost popped blooms...
I brought them in,
put them in water,
and together we watched the snow fall outside...
with in an hour,
they popped open...
In the Language of Flowers
Snowdrops are the Symbol of Hope...
the first tangible
Sign that Spring will come...
Snowdrops
are also often called
The Fair Maid of February...
it is easy
to understand
the love of this tenacious flower...
within another hour
the snow was gone...
but,
my sweet Snowdrops
are sparkling...

February fair-maid,
Ever as of old time,
Solitary firstling,
Coming in the cold time,
Prophet of the gay time,
Prophet of the May time,
Prophet of the roses,
Many, many welcomes,
February fair-maid!
tonight I will be linking up to...
I Love it when You stop by...

The inside of those snowy drops, lovely
This was such a lovely post! Thank you for sharing such prettiness with us :)
Such pretty pictures of that gorgeous flower! How funny that we both got a dusting of snow this morning. I wish I had something so pretty to show for it!
I have these in my garden too. You take such pretty pictures, it's a delight to visit your blog! take care, Maryann
Hi Bella, your styling ideas and your photography are just superb! It is always such a treat to come here when you have a new post up. I love the dainty blooms of the snowdrops. Since they don't grow in Southern California, I was happy to be able to enjoy them seen through your lens. Wishing you a good rest of the week!

Ah, the first signs of spring, here they are starting too, but you made again such a lovely post with the snowdrops, I admire you for your styling.
Hi Bella!!!
Snowdrops are so delicate and beautiful!!
It was very windy and that made it very cold up here in BC. They say snow is come and I hope it's a dusting.
Beautiful post!!

Exquisite! Your styling and photography are always so beautiful.
What a lovely reminder of the beauty that Spring has in store for us! :) Looking forward to that, although the snow is beautiful as well!
Loving your whole gentle decor-the snowdrops are just so pretty! And the cup-pots from previous post- what a clever idea:) Your house reminds me of J.B Fletcher's house( from Murder she wrote).
And your dogs in hats ROCK haha
Stay safe and warm.

Love as always... These are simply perfect!
Bella, this is so beautiful. It reminds me a little of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Woman. Have you seen it? She combines nature drawings with poetry, quotes, and her own thoughts and discoveries. Those snowdrops are so sweet and brave.
es verdad que las flores nos recuerdan la primavera que pronto llegara , son preciosas

How charming, Bella! Your snowdrops are like little fairy bells and look so lovely in your pretty vase surrounded by your pretties. Glad they are staying warm - oh, isn't it cold? Keep cozy and warm. Hugs, xo Karen

Very beautiful post. Hopefully Spring will soon arrive in Philadelphia. More snow and below zero temps than I can ever remember.
Your photography is beautiful and the flowers absolutely precious.

Beautiful!! Lovely post!! I have been reading your blog for awhile..it is so very lovely and inspiring!!
Those sweet little flowers give me hope that spring will arrive soon, Bella. :) It's been such a brutal winter here in MI. We still have about 30" of snow on the ground. No flowers blooming here quite yet. :( But I'm praying that God will send us calmer, warmer, and sunnier weather soon. :)
xoxo laurie
