The Perfect Season...

Last night I used my large silver tray

for my tea setting...

and... I realized how much I miss winter...

Don't get me wrong,

I am not ready for summer to end,

there are just some things

I miss..

Like candlelight...

and the sparkle of silver in the candlelight...

But then again...

In the summer I have roses :-)

Floppy garden fresh roses...

For a brief time

when the sun sets sooner,

and before the cold takes the roses away..

There is the perfect time

when there are...

 A silver tray,

some lovely bits of lace...

I love the smell of lemons

(and they sure look pretty floating in the cup :-)

pinches of alyssum and a sprig of mint

add to the delightful fragrance...

Flowers of August...

Today was a day spent in the garden,

catching up on deadheading and weeding...

I can't believe it is

nearing the end of August...

The late season flowers are blooming...

A gathering of Anemones,

with a happy bee....

Herons Bills...

the veins in it's small petals look like butterfly wings..

A soft striped Hollyhock

in the late day sun,

full of shadows...

The last Astrantia flowers

leaning on a rusted iron headboard...

A deeper pink Anemone,

with a sprinkler showering in the background,

creating a magical backdrop,

of sparkles and mist...

A soft Pink Rose Of Sharon,

the happy recipient of the sprinklers shower...
