A Fearless Flower...

Each Spring it strikes me,
how fearless Hellebores are...

this appearingly tender perennial
braves the cold Winter Temperatures
and the snow,
just to delights me with early blooms...

each year,
I think to myself...
I really need to buy a bigger variety of colors...

I have been really busy Spring cleaning this year...

I feel the need to unclutter,
to surround myself only with the things
that I really love...

this effort requires
that I dig through the back of cupboards,
root around in the attic...

its like a free treasure hunt in my own house...

this year I brought out
my purple glass collection...

it's subtle tone
feels right for these Late Winter Blooms...

this afternoon
brought a break in the clouds...

light rays of sunshine
were so welcome!

these pretty blooms are also a welcome sight
to our year round resident Anna's Hummingbirds!

I so appreciate my Fearless flowers....

Throwback Thursday Spring....

As I flipped the calendar page,
my brain saw March
my heart saw March...

I am obsessed with all things Spring...

yet,
outside its cold, wet and windy...

so I am living in my daydreams,
keeping my eyes on old garden photos....

flowers make everything so much brighter,
just two blooms on the saucer
equal instant cheer!

cheery blosoms...

dappled sun and violets...

the sugar on the cookies was made with violet petals...
the tutorial for it is here...

woody hyacinths...

photos from
a trip to La Conner Washington's
Tulip Festival...

I am adding this to my Spring list
of must do's...

it is an amazing event!

I remember this day so clearly,
it was so cold
I couldn't quit shaking,
all my photos were a little blurry...
lol!

Thanks for joining me today...

March...

March,
began softly...

I was able to gather just enough tender blooms,
to make a nosegay...

a small celebration
of the new month...

with frail blue wings.
The happy earth looks at the sky
and sings"

It is just so lovely,
to step out in my brown garden...
and find these little bits of joy again!!

Happy March!!!
