Pink and Farm Chic...

As I was out this morning
hitting a couple garage sales :-)

IT was in the air...

(click photos to enlarge)

The feel that things were changing,
a hint of the autumn to come...

It influenced my purchases,
It feels like a time to gather,
a time to fill the nest with warmth...

a time for baking...

This large pink batter bowl
just begs to be filled with pancake batter...

This perfectly chipped Pink rolling pin
will be a fabulous addition to my little collection...

I dug through my closet for an old favorite quilt,
for the pending chilly evenings...

This well loved and well worn quilt,
is on the ready to do the job....

The potato vines feel the change,
and they are beginning to form berries...

The sun,
seems to be glowing more golden today...

Stop by Beverly's for more Pink Saturday fun :-)

Charming Towels and Exciting News!

There is a lady in a neighboring town,
who lives in an amazing Victorian home.
She has been "cleaning out the attic"
preparing to sell this dream of a home.

In this modern world of garage sales
I am on her text list...

I went to her sale this morning
and came home with a box of pretty finds,
and thought I would share these lovely linen towels...

The charm of
A basket full of roses...

A lovely spray of Lilacs...

An applique Morning Glory...

Ladies strolling through the garden..

Complete with their bonnets and a parasol...

A border of lazy flowers...

The simple beauty of
Roses made of french knots
in a graduation of colors...

I also have exciting news today!!

Do you remember my Summer Dining Post?

Amanda Formaro an Editor for Old Fashioned Living,
asked me if I would write a article
to elaborate on that post...

And today I am so excited to say
she published it on their site!

An Abundance of Eden...

I don't believe there is a prettier rose
than the Eden,
with her delicate layers of softly shaded petals.

She is delighted about the hot weather
and has begun blooming abundantly...

I couldn't be happier :-)

So the table begins with her..

Then, since I have bought so many garage sale rose dishes lately
I thought I would mix and match more roses
into tonight's table...

My favorite new dish is this Homer Laughlin casserole..

since it was too hot for baking,
and since I could not resist using it,
I will serve a cold pasta salad from it...

I am also using my Homer Laughlin,
they were almost a match (to the casserole dish)
 bone dishes,

Since we are vegetarian
bone dishes are an odd choice for our table.
But the uniqueness of them adds a fun look to the table
and I have several ideas for alternate uses,
tonight they will serve as a bread plates...

The sun low on the horizon
looked pretty
glowing in through the window...

I used my simple go with everything plates
from Marshall's
they have a pretty pearly pink border
that was hard to capture...

The vintage napkins
 are a loose weave,
with a pretty pulled work design...

My Motto..
never enough roses :-)
